EPITHELIAL TISSUE

I. Objective:
1. Define the term epithelium
2. Classify epithelial tissue types
3. Identify and give examples of the major types of epithelia in figures and specimens

II. Materials:
1. Unlabeled photos of epithelial types (Anatomy and Physiology books)
2. Microscope (optional)
3. Prepared slides of the following: (optional)
a. simple squamous (surface view)
b. stratified squamous (non-keratinized) c.s
c. stratified squamous (keratinized) c.s
d. simple cuboidal c.s
e. simple columnar c.s
f. pseudostratified (ciliated)
g. transitional c.s

III. Procedure:
 Draw and label the different types of epithelium on the space provided

IV. Questions:
