Dossier in Art Appreciation

Date of Submission: TBA

Directions: Read carefully the following guidelines on creating a dossier. The rubrics for the dossier will be used in
grading your output.

1. Create a dossier containing the following items that reflect your artistic preferences:
 5 paintings
 5 sculptures
 5 architectural structures
 5 literatures
 5 songs
 5 dances
 5 films
 5 theatrical plays
2. Your artistic preferences should include specific works (i.e., specific titles/names and NOT broad genres). For
examples:
 painting: Creation of Adam and Eve by Michelangelo
 sculpture: Christ the Redeemer in Brazil
 architectural structure: The Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt
 literature: One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
 song: Sick Cycle Carousel by Lifehouse
 dance: samba
 film: Dead Poets Society
 theatrical play: The Phantom of the Opera
3. Explain each of your artistic preferences in two sentences. Why does each of them appeal to you?
4. Use long bond papers for your dossier. Your dossier should be in portrait orientation.
5. Present each item creatively by adding colors and designs. Do NOT computerize your designs. Only printouts of
images (i.e., paintings, sculptures, architectural structures, literatures, dances, films, and theatrical plays) and lyrics
(song) are allowed. Your explanations should also be computerized.
6. Include a cover page for your dossier. Produce a title that is creative and catchy. The cover page should contain your
complete names, year and section, and date of submission.
7. Staple/bind/tie the pages of your dossier. Do NOT place your dossier in a folder or envelope. Organize your entries
by following the arrangement of items in #1.
8. Submission of dossier and rubrics template is during class time. The rubrics template should be filled out completely
with the necessary information (surnames, year and section, and date). It should be typewritten. Place it at the back
of the dossier as its last page.
9. Late submission of dossier and rubrics is NOT allowed.
