The story "Preludes" by Daryll Delgado uses nonlinear techniques like flashbacks and foreshadowing to confuse the reader and encourage them to carefully analyze the plot. The story involves a woman named Nenita who dreams of being with another man, then discovers her husband has been unfaithful. In a fit of anger, she quietly kills her husband. This is an example of concubinage, where a husband keeps a mistress, which was the consequence of the husband's decision to cheat on his wife. The past experiences depicted in the story help to shape the characters and show how people adapt to problems over time.

The story, Preludes written by Daryll Delgado was mostly
interesting because the scenarios were inverted or reverse which you need to find out what goes first. The author of the story uses foreshadowing and flashbacks so that reader would be confuse therefore it will encourage them to read the story. The plot where us students would really know what happen in the story where it uses techniques like foreshadowing and flashback. When Nenita lust with Willy Revillame but it was just a dream, Nenita’s husband cheated on her, and when she killed her husband silently. I really think that the story doesn’t make sense at all but when the teacher explained it all, it enlighten my mind that there is a concubinage going on in the story. First, what is concubinage? It is committed by any husband who shall keep a mistress. This where concubinage happened in the story Nenita’s husband always cheated on her yet she didn’t mind at first but when she was quick- tempered of her husband already, she immediately killed her husband quietly.
Her husband also choose the
decision to cheat his wife that is why the consequence of the husband had a tragic death. The past builds our character and self so that we could be the best self and show to the others that the past is not really a bad thing at all but it only shows how we adapt to the problem in the past. The past and the present is directly proportionally to each other because without the past we could not live to present. We must learn from the past so you could continue learning and improving yourself in the present
The sun was high. Heat seeped into people's
bones. Tuba warned their blood even more. Someone's ninth death anniversary was being celebrated. Another man's life in that party ended. It ended on a high note. God Bless and More Power!
