Marylene- I`m so excited, because I`m going to England on holidays. I`m

staying at my friends Maura`s house. It`s a whole new experience for me, I`d
never been to England.

Arriving at the airport…

Marylene- Hi, Maura! I´m so glad to see you again.

- Maura- Hello Marlene! How are you? Did you have a nice flight?

- Marylene- Yes I sure did, the trip was ok. I`m so excited to be here!

- Maura- We should go to my flat to keep your luggage.

- Marylene- Oh yes, that’s a great idea because this baggage weights

tons. Is your apartment far from here?

- Maura- No, it’s not far; it is only 10 minutes if we take the motorway.

- Marylene- Motorway?! I thought you had a car! I can`t take the

baggage in a Moto!

- Maura- LOL, no, motorway is…How can I explain to you….motorway

it`s a road you can drive faster….Do you understand?

- Marylene- OHH…. Right, you mean a freeway!

- Maura- Yes, I always forget that we speak the same language but

there are some different words.

10 minutes later….arriving at the apartment

- Marylene- By the way, does your apartment have an elevator?

- Maura- Elevator?! Hum…Oh lift! Yes, it does.

- Marylene- Thank God.

- Maura- I was wondering, would you like to go out to dinner.

- Marylene- Yes, sure….that`s cool! Do you know any place where we

can eat good home maid food? I`m so curious.

- Maura- Of course. I know a nice one near here but we have to book

first.

- Marylene- Book? What book? Do you need help from a book to get

there? I thought you said it wasn`t far from here!

- Maura- LOL, to book means to make a reservation!

- Marylene- It`s so funny the way you speak! While you book, can I just

go on and wash up my hands?

- Maura- Of course, be my guest, the tap on the right side is the hot

water, and the left one is the cold water. Do you know what tap

means, don`t you?

- Marylene- Yes, faucet….that was easy! It can`t be anything else.

- Maura- Ok, hurry up! I don`t want to be late!

- Marylene- Oh you British people and your punctuality!

15 minutes later

- Marylene-I`m ready! Didn`t take too long, did I?

- Maura- Oh my God, you are not going with those trainers, are you?

- Marylene- What`s the problem with my snickers? They are new and

clean! And they are so comfortable

- Maura- No, you can`t. They don`t allow snickers there. It`s a elegant

restaurant!

- Marylene- Fancy?! Good, I don`t want to think about the bill!

- Maura- Don`t worry, the banknote is mine, my treat. We have to

leave now because I need to fill some petrol first.

- Marylene- Petrol? You mean gas, right?

- Maura- Yes, very good.

- Marylene- I`ll pay for that then. I´m already thinking about the great

schedule I`m preparing for us, when you go visiting me in America,

next fall.

- Maura- Ok, but don`t prepare a heavy timetable, because normally in

autumn I get tired easily.

- Marylene- Ok whatever; we will have so much fun.

- Maura- Yes, but first we will have fun here, let`s go.
