Do you see white rappers as a privileged class in hip hop or as a minority and why?

I would say that white rappers are a minority class in hip-hop. White rappers have been criticized

for all time. If they succeed in the music industry, they are accused of benefiting from white

privilege. White rappers are less sensitive to the racial injustices inherent in the hip-hop culture

of black artists.

Topic: Skin color is a privilege of white rappers that allows them to criticize politics with no

issues.

1. How does this source contribute to your topic?

White America (2002) Eminem's most politicized song ever. In 2002, the rapper had already

become the idol of millions of people, and he used this for a loud manifesto against the war and

state propaganda.

2. Identify 2+ lyrics from each song you might use in your research paper. Explain their

significance to your overall topic.

White America (2002). Eminem says,

“ just sprays and sprays

And straight through your radio waves,

it plays and plays”

America was actively preparing for the invasion of Iraq. At the same time, he notes that he

probably would have been in prison for his songs if he had not been white.

“Let's do the math: if I was black, I woulda sold half”

Kill You (2000) this song is similar to the message from "White America".
