Summary Of Referred Document

The document referred for the study is the NIRF(National Institutional Ranking Framework)
Rankings issued each year by the Ministry of Human Resource Development since 2015. The
framework basically outlines the methodology for the rankings of various institutions in India
under various categories such as Engineering, Management, Medical, Pharmacy just to name a
few. In the report we have used the Medical category rankings for the study from the year 2018
to 2021. The rankings of Institute is decided upon various factors used in the methodology some
terms used in the rankings frameworks are:

1. Teaching Learnings & Resources(TLR)


Under this section data used for marks allocation are the number of students studying in
the particular institute, teacher students ratio and various Financial resources and its
utilisation.

2. Research and Professional Practices(RPC)


Under this section marks are allotted on the basis of parameters such as Number of
publications under the name of institute, quality of publications and number of Patents
granted based on the research and publications.

3. Graduation Outcomes(GO)
Under this section a institute is judged upon the parameters such as ratio of number of
students who passed the university examination and completed their graduation/post
graduation over the number of enrolled students for the same year, and the number of
students who took admission for higher education such as P.hd.

4. Outreach & Inclusivity(OI)


Under this section marks are allocated on parameters such as diversity of students in the
campus, number of female students, students studying from other countries, in campus
diversity of socially and economically challenged students.

5. Perception
In this section marks are allocated on the basis of a survey done by the institute among
the employers and industry about the institute and how they perceive the students from
these institutions and their basic impression about them.

After studying the various factors and allocating institutes marks on a scale of (1 to 100) for each
of the above mentioned parameters the institutes are allotted its ranking under their respective
category.
