The Will of a River by Alfredo Q. Gonzales Jr.

Moral Lesson

It taught me that like the river, we experience obstacles in our daily adventures or
travel. In order to overcome hardships, we require strength and power. Like the river, it
received the current to flow down the stream because of magnificent height and
magnitude. We need to have a strong power by our side to keep us strong and humbled.
The only strength that is all-powerful and all-knowing is God. Only Him can give long
lasting love and support to us in our hopes of reaching our dreams and goals in life. It is
best to be faithful and headstrong.

Biblical Truth

- Jeremiah 17:7

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.” It reminds us
to seek warmth and happiness with God, along with family and friends as you give them

This is The Life by Anne Dillard

Moral Lesson

It is about culture and it’s impact on your growth in life. It plays a part in teaching you
the ropes in living your life how it should be. It explains that us people are only familiar
with our own cultures and sometimes are ignorant when it comes to different cultures.

Biblical Truth

- Galatians 3:28

“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and
female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

- Luke 12:23

“For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.”

Even if culture tells us how to live your life, we have obstacles such as peer pressure and
social norms. In the end, all of us are equal. All of our lives end with one event, death. It
is important for us to avoid being rude or close-minded about other cultures. We have
to stand back from favoritism and avoid being bias about opinions.
