PRELIM: VALUE FOCUS/REFLECTION

MODULE #1

“You are a teacher” somebody would tell you. Is this TRUE? What attributes or qualities
should you have that would tell that you would be a good teacher in future? Like learners,
teachers are molded by nature and nurture. Nature means your inborn qualities, your natural
tendencies. Nurture means, how you were trained or taught to become a teacher. You are born
with qualities and attributes that would fit you to become teachers.

Yes. Teaching is a difficult profession, and some teachers never get above mediocrity.
They only perform the absolute minimum and nothing more. Great instructors, on the other hand,
work diligently to provide their pupils with a demanding and nurturing atmosphere. Great
teaching appears to be more about our attitude in the future - toward our students, our topic, and
our job than it is about our knowledge and abilities.
I’d say consistency is one of the most important qualities a teacher should have. The
consistency of imparting knowledge and expanding knowledge for the betterment of yourself and
your treatment towards others. A teacher should be consistent in dealing with other people, as to
not forget the oath undertaken by a teacher on his/her chosen profession.
While some people seem to be born with the ability to teach, others must put in many
hours to reach excellent teacher status. The payback, on the other hand, is huge – for both you
and your pupils. Think what pupils will remember of you when they appreciate what wonderful
instructor they had.

MODULE #2

How will you promote the use of teacher-made resources?

Teacher-made resources are most likely geared towards addressing the individual needs
of the students. They can customize it to be fun, interactive, and pleasing to the eyes of the
pupils/student which can stimulate more learnings. But teachers should take into account the
guidelines and standards set by DepEd and CHED. Utilizing my very own resources in the future
may fit my needs as a teacher for the students to partake information at their own pace.
MODULE #3

What you think are the challenges met by the teachers in the implementation of instructional
strategies in the delivery of new normal setting?

I think, one of the most challenging part for teachers in imparting knowledge in the new
normal setting is the internet connectivity, because of intermittent connection mostly in rural
areas, which are way beyond the control of education stakeholders. While in modular learning, is
the logistics and communication. Even before the pandemic, implementing the instructional
strategies that works with the students’ need required a lot of a teacher’s time & effort, what
more now that meetings are through online modality.
