Subject: ENGLISH I
The verb to be is the most important verb in the English language. It is difficult to use because it is
an irregular verb in almost all of its forms.
The three different forms of verb “to be”, in present are: am, are, is.
• am = I
• is = he, she, it
• are = we, you, they
It can be also used to refer to something that is true at the present moment.
Examples:
She is 20 years old.
He is a student.

• My dog eats a lot of meat.

Rules for third person (singular) = he, she, it. Only in present simple
negative
Examples:
• You don’t do exercise at home.
• John doesn’t like vegetables soup.
