"PRESENTE CONTINUO"

 Vamos a repasar la forma afirmativa, negativa e interrogativa del Presente Continuo/progressive

EXPLICACIÓN

Recordamos que este es un tiempo verbal que se utiliza para expresar acciones que se están realizando al
momento de hablar.

Está formado por dos verbos: el verbo to be (is- am- are) y otro verbo al cual se le agrega ing. El
único verbo que se va conjugando es el to be. El otro verbo terminado en ing siempre queda
igual. Esto ocurre tanto en la forma afirmativa, negativa e interrogativa

IMPORTANTE

Si el verbo termina en “e” se saca le “e” y se agrega “ing”, por ejemplo:

 Live living
 Dance dancing

Si el verbo está formado por CONSONANTE + VOCAL + CONSONANTE, se duplica la última


consonante y se agrega “ing”, por ejemplo:

 Sit sitting
 Run running
 Get getting

Forma AFIRMATIVA ( AFFIRMATIVE FORM)

Sigue esta estructura:

SUJETO + am/is/are + VERBO+ING + COMPLEMENTO

Forma NEGATIVA (NEGATIVE FORM)

En la forma NEGATIVA solo se le agrega “not” al verbo “to be”

SUJETO VERBO TO BE ADVERBIO SHORT FORM

En la forma INTERROGATIVA hay que tener en cuenta que hay dos tipos de
preguntas

1- YES/ NO QUESTIONS : Are you studying English? Is she studying English?

Yes, I am Yes, she is

No, I am not No, she isn't

2- WH QUESTIONS:

Se utilizan las siguientes palabras: What - What sport - What subject- What instrument - Where

En estas preguntas respondo algo específico. Ejemplo:

What are you doing? I am watching TV (¿Qué estas haciendo? Estoy mirando tele.)

What sport are you playing? I am playing soccer (¿Que deporte estas jugando? Estoy jugando fútbol)

Where are you listening to music? I am listening to music in my bedroom (¿Dónde estas
escuchando música? Estoy escuchando música en mi cuarto)

What is she doing? She is listening to music.

(¿Que esta ella haciendo? Ella esta escuchando música)

What sport is she playing? She is playing tennis.

(¿Qué deporte esta ella jugando? Ella esta jugando tenis)

Where is she playing computer games? She is playing computer games in the living-room.
(¿Dónde esta ella jugando juegos de computadora?)
