SYSTEM CHECKS - GENERATOR RESISTOR AND JUMPERS

APPLIES TO
Proteus XR/a System.

PROBLEM
If the system has a wrong resistor in the CAN bus, or the JTR jumper on TOMO I/F board or
collimator I/F board is closed, the system will experience intermittent lock ups or errors (error code
may be 80-602). This system check will help to avoid such potential problems.

SOLUTION
Please follow the procedure to do the system checks and remove the wrong resistor or jumper,
especially for these Jedi Serial numbers listed below.

PROCEDURE

1. Power off the system.

2. Shut down the facility power breaker.
3. Dismount the front cover of the cabinet by loosing two screws underneath the cover.
Note: Pay attention to the ground wire connecting to the cover.
4. Find the JTR jumper on the collimator I/F board (221-2994). Confirm the JTR jumper is opened.
5. Measure the resistance between U6-6 and U6-7 on the collimator I/F board. The resistance should be 60±5
Ö.
Note: Ensure the power is off and all the cables are well connected while measuring the
resistance.

- If the measured resistance is out of range, then go to step 6 to check the system.
- If the measured resistance is in this range, then go to step 7.

6. System checks.

6.1.Check the JTR jumper on the TOMO I/F board (221-2993).

Note: This check is needed only when the system has the TOMO link.

- Open the cover of TOMO I/F board box.

- Check the JTR jumper on the TOMO I/F board (221-2993). Make sure the JTR jumper is opened.

- Reinstall the box cover.

- Measure the resistance between U6-6 and U6-7 on the collimator I/F board again. If the resistance
is 60±5Ö , then go to step 7; Else, go to step 6.2.

6.2. Check the resistor on the Jedi I/F board.

The Jedi I/F Board is situated in the Interface Unit.

BEFORE ANY MANUAL INTERVENTION, ENSURE THE MAIN POWER IS OFF. APPLY
DANGER
LOCK OUT - TAG OUT PROCEDURE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY WHEN MANIPULATING
INSIDE THE EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED.

NOTICE
The removing of the I/F Board can be done without removing the Interface Unit from the
Cabinet.

• Mount the Jedi I/F board and connect all the cables.

• Mount the cover panel.

6.3. Measure the resistance between U6-6 and U6-7 on the collimator I/F board again. If the resistance is still

out of 60±5Ö (which should be very rare), please forward this issue to

Tanya Quiles-Moreno or Mi, Kai Yun

7. Mount the cabinet front cover.
