REGULATIONS
• Set out the standards you need to meet for specific hazards and risks.
• Also set out the licenses you need for specific activities, the records
you need to keep, and the reports you need to make.
CODES OF PRACTICE
• Provide practical guidance on how to meet the standards set out in the
WHS Act and the WHS Regulations.
• Are admissible in proceedings as evidence of whether or not a duty
under the WHS laws has been met.

an industry of your choice.

• Employers are legally obligated to ensure that their workplace is safe
for all employees and visitors.

WHS ADVICE
• WHS can be complex, needing interpretation from legislation and
industry regulations with heavy penalties and risks associated with
non-compliance.
ACTIVITY: REPORT
• You are required to develop a WHS induction manual for an industry
sector/organisation of your choice.
• The manual is to provide basic WHS guidelines and information for employees on
hazard identification and risk assessment and control.
• It should be no more than three pages and you can include graphics and images.
