Check list for CCTV System.(Detailed) STATUS INSPECTION

Do the contractor have proper RG 59 Coaxial
cable crimping tool, Diagonal connector & knife.
Are the BNC connectors properly crimped with
RG 59 coaxial cable. Ensure the correct
method.
Are the cameras are modular type, check the
lens (Auto iris, Manual Iris, telephoto , stanadard
etc.) and the mounting bracket ( indoor, outdoor,
color etc.)
Are the cameras ALL IN ONE (AIO) Version
(Dome camera, Bullet cameras, Day/Night
Color/Infrared, Pan/tilt/zoom cameras)
Verify operation of Pan tilt and zoom focus, use
controller in control room to check these
operation.
Are the cameras powered @ 12 VDC / 24VDC
Are the hanging ceiling mounted / wall mounted
bracket correctly installed.
Ensure the correctness of Lens & Auto Iris
cable.
Are the Power / Plug in adapter cables correct &
connected correctly.
Is the vedio cable correctly placed.
Are the Digital Vedio Recorder (DVR) side
cables correctly placed.
Are the cables & appropriate ports properly
labeled.
Is the cable / DSL Modem connected straightly
using Ethernet cable to DVR.

Is the cable / DSL Modem connected through a
router to the DVR.
Ensure correctness of cables & its conntions for
Cat5/RJ45/Ethernet cable from LAN port on
DSL/Cable modem to the WAN port on the
router
Ensure correctness of cables & its connections
for Cat5/RJ45/Ethernet cable from any port on
router to the LAN connection on DVR.
Verify that all cables properly labeled & dressed.
Verify/check all cables connectors and all cable
entry points for loose wiring. Check all coaxial
connectors on the back panels for loose
connections. Check all power connections to
insure AC plugs are not loose or power cables
frayed.
Verify / check that co axial cable is transmitting
an adequate video signal to control room. Signal
should be free of distortion, tearing, hum-bars,
EMI, and rolling, etc.
Make sure all coaxial connectors are insulated
from conduit and pull boxes.
Monitors are free from picture burn-in, and
distortion.
Monitors have proper contrast and brightness.
VCR’s are functioning properly and provided
distortion free recording.
All control equipment is operational. Switchers
allow proper sequencing and callup.
Multiplexers are
properly encoding and decoding. Matrix switcher
keyboards are fully operational.
Clean all monitor screens, control panels, and
keyboards with a diluted cleaning solution.
Is router & DVR configuration method , Internet
Protocol (TCP/IP) addresses DNS Server
addreses explained & attached herewith.
Is configuration method for routers access to the
network through the cable/DSL Modem
explained & attached herewith.
Is the recording system is operating correctly,
including replaying of prerecorded Images.
Are all cameras correctly angled, and correct
area of coverage is being achieved.

Are the cameras Lens/focus & auto iris adjusted
properly.
Is camera / housing viewing window is clean,
inside and outside.
Is camera lens is free from dust.
Is interior of camera enclose is clean & dry.
Are Dome cameras operating correctly.
Are cameras clean and free of dust.
Remotely monitored external cameras:
Check the movement Detectors below the
cameras are still in place and appear to be
pointing in the Correct direction.
The remotely monitored system activates when
triggered through to the Control centre.
(The system will need to be turned on for this).
Is the on site audio challenge facility is operating
correctly and can be heard clearly on site when
the control room makes an audio
announcement.
Are the cameras and detectors are clear from
obstruction such as trees Or other foliage.
Are external lightings working and that time
clocks are correctly set.
Confirm with the control room that the system
has triggered correctly once you have walked
around the site in front of the cameras.
REMARKS:
Be aware that this checklist is not all inclusive but only provide minimum review of Electrical items used on site.
