I- OPENING STATEMENT
The main difference Between globalism and globalization is that globalism is an ideology based on
the belief that people, information, and goods should be able to cross national borders unrestricted,
while globalization is the spread of technology, products, information, and jobs across nations.

What is Globalism?
Globalism is a broad term we can generally define as an ideological commitment in favour of
globalization. It’s a view that considers globalization as entirely positive. Moreover, the ideology of
globalism is based on the belief that people, information, and goods should be able to cross national
borders unrestricted. It places the interests of the entire globe above the interests of individual
nations. Globalism can also refer to a socio economic system that is dedicated to free trade and free
access to markets.
What is Globalization?
We can simply define globalization as the spread of technology, products, information, and jobs
across nations. Globalization is a multidimensional economic and social process that began in the
late 1970s. It involves a variety of interlinked economic, social communicational, political, and
environmental phenomena. Moreover, globalization is characterized by the interconnection of local
private and public markets in one global arena, with respect to globally accepted rules and
regulations.

IIb- Analysis/Discussion of the 1st RRL

Globalism, is a very different term than Global citizenship, which starts from the perspective that all
people share common responsibilities to others, regardless of nationality. In contrast it seems that
globalism begins with the premise that the nation-states owes its primary duty to its own citizens, any
assistance or support for people elsewhere may represent a betrayal of the government’s
responsibility to its own populace.
Globalization has both positive and negative effects. It can affect the economy, society, culture and
politics of individual countries. Since Globalization creates free markets, it has beneficial impact on
large state multinational corporations. But it can cause damage to small business and local cultural
identities. Furthermore, open market and open mobility of people that are a result of globalization can
cause uncontrollable migrations, which create issues in the social as well as political stability in a
local community.

However, it is in regard to business and economics that the term "globalization" is most frequently
invoked. What is referred to here is a qualitative shift toward a global economic system that is no
longer based on autonomous national economies but on a consolidated global marketplace for
production, distribution, and consumption;" (Holm and Sorensen, 1995: 5) in which "distinct national
economies are subsumed and rearticulated into the system by essentially international processes and
transactions" (Hirst and Thompson, 1992). The primary vehicles for this process have been the
increasing Trans nationalization of production, and the resulting rise in influence of multinational
enterprises, and even more importantly, the explosion in the volume and scope of transactions on
international financial markets. In this regard, consider the following commentary on contemporary
change in the banking industry:.

IIIb-Analysis/Discussion/of the 2nd RRL

Without science, neither globalism nor globalization would be possible, and without technology,
neither would be feasible. The amount to which science's intrinsic ethics and the norms of conduct of
various engineering professions impact globalism and globalization, or the degree to which
independent ethical examination should be applied to all science, technology, and globalist synergy,
is still a matter of debate.
IV-General Conclusion
Although globalism and globalization are similar concepts, there is a difference between them. The
main difference between globalism and globalization is that globalism is an ideology based on the
belief that people, information, and goods should be able to cross national borders unrestricted, while
globalization is the spread of technology, products, information, and jobs across nations. We should
not expect or fear that globalism will lead to homogenization. Instead will expose us more frequently
and in more variations to the differences that surround us.

V-Closing Statement
Globalization involves increasing interconnection between people and regions throughout the world,
while globalism is the ideological component of globalization.
In Contrast globalization refers to the increase or decline in the degree of globalism. It focuses on the
forces, the dynamism as the underlying basic network, while globalization refers to the dynamic
shrinking of distance on a large scale.
