Learning Environment

The COVID19 outbreak has a great impact to the educational sector. Schools are
temporarily closed and learning from home becomes the new normal. But education should be a
top priority. Learning must continue in the midst of pandemic but the health and safety of the
learners and the school community are of utmost importance.

In its preparation for the opening of classes this school year on September 13, 2021, AO
Floirendo National High School conducts Brigada Eskwela and Oplan Balik Eskwela to inform
and address problems and concerns encountered by the students and parent and strengthen
partnerships with education stakeholders to ensure quality basic education despite the current
pandemic. Moreover, as a response to the disruption of classes brought by the Covid-19 crisis,
the school launched the use of Blended Learning Delivery Modalities, making use of Modular
Distance Learning and Radio-Based Instruction to reach and help its learners in their learning
persuasion.

Named as EdukaRadyo sa AO Floirendo, this makes use of Frequency Modulation (FM)

Station for an advantage of power and bandwidth efficiency. With FM station’s free-space
propagation, it is easier to setup the antenna system. Teachers and learners communicate real
time and it allows the students to study based on their abilities to learn skills or competencies at
their own pace.

To equip the teachers with the knowledge of Radio-based Instruction, the school initiated
a school-based training last _________. The said training aimed to orient the teachers on the
process of developing lessons and radio scripts suited for the learners in preparation for the
production of interactive episodes, development of essential competencies that will fit the
listening skills of the learners. In these times, home environment and learning are interrelated to
adapt to the new normal education. In support, transistor radios were donated by generous
sponsors and stakeholders which will be distributed to chosen recipients.

Additionally, in an effort to fight the unseen enemy, certain measures are needed to
reduce the risk of exposure and spread of COVID-19. As such, health and safety protocols are
strictly implemented in the school premise. Everyone has the responsibility to practice social
distancing, ensure frequent handwashing, observe cough/sneeze etiquette, and observe proper
tissue usage and disposal.

Everyone is advised to wear their face masks and face shield and submit to the set of
safety health protocols before entering the campus. Hand sanitizer and alcohol are available by
the entrance and in different areas of the school. Sanitizing footbath is also provided at the
entrance of each classroom and office. School disinfection is done weekly as well for safety
purposes. Alternative Working Arrangement is also observed for the safety and well-being of the
teaching and nonteaching personnel.

AO Floirendo National High School will continue to move forward to serve its clientele
amidst the battle against COVID19 and ensure that learning will continue and learners will be
provided with the quality education they deserve.
