    Culture can be defined as the beliefs, values, behaviors, and symbols that are shared by a group of people. There are two main types of culture - material culture which includes physical objects, and non-material culture which includes ideas, values, and beliefs. Elements that comprise culture include language, religion, politics, family structure, art, music, and customs. Characteristics of culture include that it is learned, shared, adaptive, integrated, and dynamic. Cultural relativism is the view that cultures can only be understood within their own context and should not be judged based on the standards of another culture.
