What is the main cause of teenage pregnancy?
Almost all of them fall pregnant because of lack of parental
guidance and has bad influence around them.
When did teen pregnancy became a main issue for
women in the Philippines?
According to a November 2020 Social Weather Stations
(SWS) survey found that Filipinos think teenage pregnancy is
the “Most important problem today” in the Philippines.
Where in the Philippines has the most cases of
teenage pregnancy?
One in three births among minors occurred in the three
regions of CALABARZON with 8,000, National Capital
Region with 7,546, and Central Luzon with 7,523.

Outside Luzon, the highest number of minors who gave

birth were in the Northern Mindanao with 4,747 cases,
Davao Region with 4,551 cases, and Central Visayas with
4,541 cases.
Why does the Philippines has one of the highest
teenage pregnancy cases?
One of the reasons for the high rate of teenage
pregnancies are inadequate sex education, some girls do
not know that having sex can result in pregnancy or fully
consider the possibility of having children.

Second is the lack of access to birth control and other

contraceptives
How can we prevent teenage pregnancy?
First of all parents, guardians, and caregivers can talk with
their teens about reproduction, because the sexual
education we have here in the Philippines is only limited
to the anatomy of the reproductive system.

Second, teach them the use of effective contaceptives and

condoms.
