II. KNOT

1. Based on the data you gathered, how does the initial angle of release (or the amplitude of
oscillation) affect the period of the pendulum?

It hugely affects the period of the pendulum in which the greater the angle the longer the period
the pendulum swinging.

2. How does the mass of the bob affect the period of the pendulum?

The mass doesn’t really affect the period of the pendulum because considering the data
gathered even though they have different weights it still had the same period.

3. How does the length of the pendulum affect its period?

It’s also the same with the angle of release, the greater the length the greater the period of the
pendulum swinging.

4. Compare the two graphs you have for part C.

The 1st and 2nd graph has the same shape in which it rises as the length gets bigger. The
amount or the period is different but as it goes visually it’s the same but in the number it isn’t.

5. What can you conclude from this experiment?

The length and angle of release is directly proportional to the period of the pendulum swinging.
Weight of the pendulum doesn’t affect the period of the swinging of the pendulum. Pendulums are
interesting and it’s a great thing to learn about.

III. Difficulties encountered in Performing the Activity

Considering that this was a new simulation it was quite hard but as soon as I knew how to handle
the values it became easier to manipulate the laboratory. It was a really fun simulation, and I learned a
lot from doing the assessment given
