I. Name of the Recipe:  Chocolate Cake with frosting


II. Objectives:
1. To know more how to bake a cake.
2. Follow the correct procedure in making frosting.
3. To learn how to decorate your cake with frosting.

III. Bill of Materials / Ingredients:


FOR CAKE

FOR SWISS MERINGUE FROSTING

4 Egg whites

1 cup White Sugar
½ tsp Lemon Juice

Mixing bowls- used for mixing ingredients.
Measuring Spoons- to measure the spoon measurements.
Measuring Cups- to measure cup measurements.
Baking Pan- where to place the cake batter.
Whisk- used for whisking.
Hand Electric Mixer- used for whisking in easier way.
Parchment paper- used to let the batter not stick into the pan.
Spatula- used for mixing.
Frosting/ Offset spatula- used for frosting.
Oven- used to put the batter here and bake it.

VII. Procedure
For Cake
1. In a mixing bowl, add the sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
2. Stir it all together until well combined.
3. Next, add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil and vanilla extract.
4. Use an electric mixer to mix it all together. 
5. Then, grease it by first spreading butter and cover the inside of pan with flour.
6. Divide the batter evenly between into the pan.
7. Put into the oven and bake it for 30 to 35 mins.
For Swiss Meringue Frosting
1. In a mixing bowl, add the egg whites, sugar and lemon juice.
2. Next, mix the ingredients with wire whisk.
3. Then, In another larger bowl, pour some boiling water in it.
4. Put the mixing bowl with the ingredients on top of the hot water.
5. Then mix it until the sugar dissolves.
6. After that, use a hand mixer to mix the mixture, mix it until it becomes stiff.
7. Stop mixing when it reaches the stiff form.

For decorating
1. When the cake is ready, let it cool.
2. After that, use an offset spatula to spread buttercream frosting on the top of the first cake.
3. Then, put the other cake on the top of it and cover the cake with the frosting.
4. Decorate it.
