Course Title Purposive Communication
Course Description Purposive Communication is about writing, speaking, and presenting to different audiences and for various
purposes. Purposive Communication is a three-unit course that develops students’ communicative competence
and enhances their cultural and intercultural awareness through multimodal tasks that provide them
opportunities for communicating effectively and appropriately to a multicultural audience in a local or global
context. It equips students with tools for critical evaluation of a variety of texts and focuses on the power of
language and the impact of images to emphasize the importance of conveying messages responsibly. The
knowledge, skills, and insights that students gain from this course may be used in their other academic
endeavors, their chosen disciplines, and their future careers as they compose and produce relevant oral,
written, audio-visual and/or web-based output for various purposes.

MISSION: Develop competent and morally upright professionals and generate appropriate knowledge and
technologies to meet the needs of Quirino Province and southern Cagayan Valley

1. Development of competent teachers in basic education;
2. Preparation of competent teachers supportive to national development goals; and
3. Preservation and promotion of desirable values for a dignified teaching profession.
OBJECTIVES OF THE BACHELOR OF ELEMENTARY EDUCATION
1. To train perspective elementary school teachers to be academically prepared and demonstrate concern
for the holistic development of the learners.
2. To create a healthy and fair environment that responds to the aspiration of the community taking into
account their cultural diversity
3. To instill moral and social responsibility and take pride in the nobility of the teaching profession
4. To produce patriotic upright, productive, technology-driven and globally competitive elementary school
teachers
PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Graduates of the BEED are professionals who can:
1. Knowledge Articulate and discuss the latest developments in the specific field of practice.

Course Objectives/Learning At the end of the semester, the students should be able to:

4. Write and present academic papers using appropriate tone, style, conventions, and reference styles

Classroom Policies 1. All learning resources have been uploaded to the QSU E-ARAL. Students are expected to read and open the
materials at your own pace.
2. Schedule of synchronous sessions will be agreed upon by the class. Synchronous sessions will be for
questions and clarifications regarding the lessons. There shall be five synchronous sessions for the whole
semester. Students are required to attend at least three synchronous sessions.
3. Announcements will be posted in QSU E-ARAL. Regularly check the website.
4. Students must turn in their written outputs in the designated place in the QSU E-ARAL in the duration of
the semester.
5. Make pains to approach the instructor if you see yourself failing in this course.
