ACTIVITY 5

1. Make a reflection if you agree with the article or not. Point out and defend your basis.
= Globalization is the word used to describe the growing interdependence of the
world's economies, cultures, and populations, brought about by cross-border trade in
goods and services, technology, and flows of investment, people, and information.
I would strongly agree to its point that globalization speedup of movements and
exchanges of human beings, goods, and services, capital, technologies or cultural
practices all over the word. However, globalization is also affecting us in a negative
way. Increased transportation and the global shift of polluting manufacturing
industries has resulted in environmental degradation. Some adverse consequences
of globalization include terrorism, job insecurity, currency fluctuation, and price
instability. For every advantage has an dis advantage, globalization also is all about
the new risks and uncertainties brought about by the high degree of integration of
domestic and local markets, intensification of competition, high degree of imitation,
price and profit swings, and business and product destruction.
2. Globalization allows companies to find lower-cost ways to produce their
products. It also increases global competition, which drives prices down and creates
a larger variety of choices for consumers. Lowered costs help people in both
developing and already-developed countries live better on less money.
