Statement of Purpose (SOP)

Introduction
I am Ebin Paul, 25 years of age, permanently residing at Angamaly, Ernakulam. After
completing my schooling, I was eager to study information technology. So, I joined at
Naipunnya institute of management and information technology, Pongam (Calicut University,
Kerala) and did my bachelor's degree in computer application (BCA) during the year 2012-2015
and secured 65% in total. I strongly believe that, this would be the perfect pathway program to
do my higher studies in information technology from an esteemed University in England.
I am very eager to do my master's degree from England due to the standard of the course offered
and wide opportunities available there. UK education brand is highly respected by employers in
our country as UK degree prepare graduates with academic competencies, developed personal
and professional skills that are imperative for organization success. These aspects have driven
my ambition to gain the degree from UK institutions.
History of educational background
I received my primary education at St. Joseph’s HSS, Kidangoor, Ernakulam and De Paul HSS,
Angamaly where I completed my state board examinations. Due to my interest in IT studies, I
opted to do my bachelor’s degree in BCA at Naipunnya Institute of Management and
Information Technology, Pongam from the year 2012-2015. I have secured 65% marks (result
sheets attached). After my graduation, I completed networking course from IPRS Institute,
Thrissur certified by Red Hat enterprises Linux 7 in the year 2015. I worked as system
administrator from February 2016 to August 2018 at Grace Solutions, Ernakulam. From
September 2018 to august 2020 I worked as Networking Trainee at Grandreves Technology,
Kakkanad, Ernakulam.

I have done my research on many UK universities by visiting their website and enquiring
international agencies. After my research I decided the best place for my higher educations is
Kingston University.

An increased demand of computer science means that there’s never been a better time to pursue a
career in this growing field. The internet touches almost all aspects of daily life. The reason for
choosing Master’s Degree in Information Systems with placement year is because I believe the
course will prove to be a perfect fit for my goal in life due to its overall academic excellence and
its role on the current industry-oriented condition. I believe that my exposure to the IT industry
will give me with a wonderful opportunity to be able to apply my acquired theory and practical
knowledge. Therefore, I am planning to utilize these strengths in order to achieve my goal in this
career.
Thus, I believe this course is of great relevance. This course aims to provide us with the
knowledge and necessary skills in several core areas of information technology. This program
will give you the skills you need to deal with this field. It focuses on issues related with crimes
committed using computer technology. So, in a technology dependent society, this could be of
great use. Because information technology is such a fast-growing field, there’s a high employer
demand for qualified professionals. The most interesting aspects of a career in information
technology is that this field can be applied to many industries, from government to nonprofit to
private sector.
The reason why I choose MSc. in Information Systems from Kingston University, UK is because
of the rich course content. In this course it is possible for me to become a specialist in computer
science which has high career prospects and remuneration possibilities. This MSc is available
with a one-year industry placement, which gives additional industrial experience by applying the
skills that learned through the studies.
My future career plans
I plan to complete my Masters of Information Systems at Kingston University. After completing
my post-graduation, I would prefer to work for a promising IT company, probably in UK itself.
It will lead me to a diverse career options offering me valuable career alternatives. The current
programme would be a path way for me to get enrolled in the master programme that would be
supportive to secure my career heights. Obtaining a qualification from Kingston University in
UK will be immense and boost my chances of achieving my career goals and place me a step
ahead of competition in the job market.
Financial support and family background
The financial expense for my migration requirements could be met from the fixed saving we
have. The rest could be managed by loan.
My father is Mr. Paul and he is a business man (real estate). My mother is Betty Paul (house
wife). I live in a family which consists of 4 members and I am eldest child. My family includes
my parents, my younger sister and myself. My sister is working at Amala hospital, Thrissur as a
lab technician.
