The functional organization, in particular those which produce only a few different kinds of

goods or services, is best suited to huge companies. Smaller businesses may not require the

structure or may find it to be unduly restrictive. A functional organizational structure is best

suited for tasks when a deeper understanding is greater than the breadth of information. Since the
project may take use of the knowledge of the Department, a functional organization structure

suits a basic program of research and development [ CITATION JRS18 \l 1033 ].

I have selected the functional organizational structure as it categorize individuals based on their

talents and knowledge, the functional organizational structure assists businesses in running their

company and earning a profit [ CITATION Dav99 \l 1033 ]. It establishes a clear structure and

eliminates employee uncertainty about who they should report to. It is a cost-effective method of

running a corporation, but it has downsides, such as a lack of communication between

departments and disgruntled personnel.

The following are some of the benefits of this style of structure: Specialization - departments

concentrate on a single job, productivity - specialization implies that employees are adept in the

job they perform, accountability - clear management lines exist, and clarity - employees are

aware of their own and others' responsibilities [ CITATION Osc15 \l 1033 ].
