1) RouteY

a) Go to www.byu.edu and logon to routey.

b) Click on the Personal Information link in the Communication section and then click on the
Contact link. Look at the title of the page and fill in this blank:

Contact __Information________________.

c) Click on the Email Address link. Note that this is where you enter the address where you
want to receive your e-mail from BYU via routey.

d) Go back to the main RouteY page and review the items listed. Which link do you select to see
if you have any outstanding charges (unpaid bills)?

f) Logout of RouteY.

2) FTP

a) Using an FTP utility (or web browser or windows explorer), open the following FTP server:

ftp://edcftp.cr.usgs.gov/pub/data/ (anonymous login)

Browse to the gtopo30/global/ directory and open the README.TXT file. What is the title on
the first line of the file?

b) Go to ftp://ftp.et.byu.edu/ and login using your CAEDM user name and password. Note that
the contents of your J drive are listed.

3) CAEDM Account Manager

a) Go to https://ssl.et.byu.edu/cms/

Click on the Account Manager link and then logon using your CAEDM user name and
password. Browse the options on this page. Note that you enter a forwarding address for your
mail if you wish. Click on the WebRestore link at the second to the bottom in the list on the left
side of the page. Briefly describe what this service does.

It is used for restoring files from the tape library system. You can select the files
you wish to restore one at a time. There is currently a maximum of 5 files which
may be downloaded during a restore session. You may restore files from your
home directory or from group directories which you are a member of.
Each file has a few attributes. 'A' stands for an active file. This means that it is
the most recent backup copy. 'I' stands for inactive. When an active copy is
changed, then it is backed up, the active copy becomes an inactive copy and a
new active copy is created. In addition to this status of the file, each file has a
time and date associated with the file. This time and date indicate when the file
was last backed up to the tape library server.

b) Logout of the Account Manager.

4) Citrix

a) Go to www.et.byu.edu.

Click on the The College/CAEDM link and then click on the Citrix Application Servers link.
In the Java Web Client section, pick a resolution and login using your CAEDM user name and
password. Browse through the items on the desktop and in the Start menu. What is the title of the
button in the lower left corner of the Citrix window (just to the right of the button with a red
dot)?

5) Zipping Files

a) Save your Word file and convert it into a zip archive.
