ONLINE ACTIVITY (K TO 12 CURRICULUM)

Name: MARIEL R. TAPADERA Date: October 9, 2021

Yr/Section: PHDECEd 2nd year

ACTIVITY: Come up with five sentence-insights about Grades K–12 Curriculum for Basic
Education in the Philippines

After the informative discussion by the discussant, I learned that:

1. By embracing international standards, the K to 12 curriculum makes our country

globally competitive, similar to other nations that have already implemented the 12th
grade level.

2. If a Senior High School student does not wish to continue on his current track, he is free
to change provided that he receives the subjects that he missed in Grade 11.

3. The children can attend any school for Grades 11 and 12, even if it is a private school, as
long as they obtain a voucher worth Php 22,500.00.

4. In this New Normal, students can select how they want to learn, and they can do so
through distant learning in the form of modular and online distance learning,
furthermore, the teacher can combine two modalities making the learning blended,
like using modular distance learning and the TV/Radio Based Instruction.

5. Today's K–12 curriculum uses a spiral progression strategy, which makes instruction
integrative, allowing teachers to incorporate Philippine history into their literature
classes.
