Sometime the bond can be as strong as blood. Family proves to be one of the main
themes in the story Marrow Thieves by Cherie Dimaline, Frenchie, who loses his whole family
has to learn how to be a leader and integrate himself into another family that isn’t connected by
blood but bond. When Frenchie loses Mitch, he has to learn how to be on his own and how to be
role model to the group. Frenchie shows that by blood, family can have the same important
impact as one with just bond. He also proves that he can lead a family and survive being the
leader.
Either by bond or blood this story shows that family can have the same impact. As mitch
sacrifices himself Frenchie understands that he has to be what Mitch was to him to new group.
Obliviously it is not the same when you are born into a family but the impact and the
