“Tutorial and Having Exploration through Numeracy Evaluation such as
Writing Numbers and Oral Reading in Mathematics Aspect that enhance
Learning (T.H.E N.E.W N.O.R.M.A.L)”
PROPOSAL

Project Title: Tutorial and Having Exploration through Numeracy Evaluation such as
Writing Numbers and Oral Reading in Mathematics Aspect that enhance Learning (T.H.E
N.E.W N.O.R.M.A.L)

Proponent: Rosa P. Palconit

Location: Brgy. Poblacion, Culaba, Biliran

Time frame: August 16-20, 2021
Estimated Project Cost: None
Rationale:
Many of the process skills needed in mathematics are similar to reading skills and
when taught together, would reinforce each other. Yet, stay-at-home learning is the best
thing that the students need to practice amidst this pandemic. Tutorial and Having
Exploration through Numeracy Evaluation such as Writing Numbers and Oral Reading in
Mathematics Aspect that enhance Learning (T.H.E N.E.W .O.R.M.A.L) is crucial at this time.
Yet, the basic thing that they need to master is reading, writing, and numeracy activities.
Moreover, reading, writing, and mathematics are, or should be, inseparable. Hands-on
mathematics can stimulate curiosity, engage student interest and build important prior
knowledge before students read or write about the topic. The more students know about a
topic, the better they comprehend and learn from the text on the topic. Prior knowledge is
the strongest predictor of students' ability to make inferences from the text.

In addition, one of the familiar justifications why learners are frightened of learning
and why they languish in the subject is because of friend tension which they are not apt to
deal with. They possess self-doubt about their capacities and are incapable to withstand
the difficulty of achievement at school and different statuses. Regards to this, I decided to
select one (1) student which are only my relatives that I wanted to teach basic mathematics
topic involving reading, writing and numeracy. I encourage them to improve their
knowledge in mathematical skills and give their trust in me that they don't need to dislike
this subject. Further, this project needs to address. Because of its benefits to the students
(particularly my tutee) because it enables them to understand and motivate in learning and
to be proficient in a related subject area.
Components:
Teaching Basic Topics in Mathematics involving Reading, Writing and Numeracy
Day 1: Whole Numbers (Number Sense, Order Forms) & Place Value
Day 2: Reading and Writing Whole Numbers
Day 3: Comparing Whole Numbers
Day 4: Number Line
Day 5: Calculator Skills

Strategies and Specific Targets:

a. Dialogue and tutoring the Grade 6 student
b. Evaluating and Application to know if they learned something on what
the tutor teaches to the tutee.

Expected Benefits:
a) to master the basic component in Whole Numbers (Number Sense,),
Reading and Writing Whole Numbers, Calculator Skills (Multiplying and
Dividing between a Calculator)
b) to be proficient in Whole Numbers: Place Value, Comparing Whole
Numbers
c) to improve their (the three) knowledge about the given topics in the
related areas
d) to identify my tutees' mastery about the given topics such as Whole
Numbers (Number Sense,), Reading and Writing Whole Numbers
Calculator Skills (Multiplying and Dividing betweenn a Calculator)Whole
Numbers: Place Value, Comparing Whole Numbers
e) to evaluate my tutee learning in reading, writing, and numeracy

Project Impacts:
a) to create, positivity and learned being proficient in Mathematics involving
Reading, Writing & Numeracy
b) to enable the significance of learning Mathematics
c) to increase the tutee's knowledge about whole numbers, or reflection,
and comprehending the given passage
Success Factors:
a) Students (Tutees) cooperation.
b) The leadership of the tutor and its supervision.
c) Appropriation: provide a safety healthy protocol.
d) Appropriate support of the tutee's parents.
e) Effectiveness of Tutorial and Having Exploration through Numeracy
Evaluation such as Writing Numbers and Oral Reading in Mathematics
Aspect that enhance Learning (T.H.E N.E.W N.O.R.M.A.L)
