NARRATIVE REPORT

NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE ACTIVITY

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the world. Due to the

nature of the virus, particularly how it is transmitted, it has altered human
behaviours, relations and lifestyles, and had profound impacts on the economic,
political and cultural landscapes of societies across the world. From the confines of
their homes, teachers and administrators were put to the task of delivering the
lesson, from a normal face to face to a modular approach. Modular approach is
designed for a self-study of course with the guidance of their parents and teacher
through online platforms. We all know that this approach would not be best to all
kinds of students especially to those students who are not gifted with a high or
average IQ. But despite of, we need to comply with mandate of the Department of
Education that Education must continue despite of the pandemic.
After the first quarter of modular distance learning the
following percentage of students are identified as low-achieving:
1.Grade 7- 12 out of 60 or 20%
2.Grade 8- 20 out of 75 or 26.67%
3.Grade 9- 17 out of 65 or 26.15%
4.Grade 10-21 out of 55 or 38.18%
5.Grade 11- 19-out of 34
With a total percentage of 89 out 289 or 30.79% of low-
achieving learner. Due to this situation mathematics teacher with the guidance of
the school head have conducted a conference on January 11, 2021 to address the
problem by formulating plans on how to help these students achieved better in the
second quarter. One of the problem identified is the degree of the difficulty of the
modules. With this, mathematics teachers have decided to develop a teacher made
learning activity sheets that would be suited to the capacity and ability of these
students. Another intervention that is planned is to have a constant online
kumustahan with these students to assist them in answering the modules.
NO STUDENTS SHOULD BE LEFT BEHIND, San Salvador High
School is one with this endeavor and together by the Grace of the almighty God
these low-achieving learners would be performing better in the next quarters.
