I. Introduction

Being able to access various types of information resources is very important

for effective learning. This is because it can help teachers prepare themselves for
various challenges in their field of expertise. Students also engage in various
activities that are related to their chosen discipline. These include planning and
organizing various learning activities, and so on. It is also necessary that students
have access to information resources to enable them to learn effectively. Information
resources availability is an integral factor in the acquisition of knowledge, learning,
and research. (Odunlade, 2017).

The school year was pushed back due to COVID-19, which had a number of
consequences for the students. The Department of Education is trying to keep the
school year of 2020-2021 going by using distance learning modalities. Because of
other circumstances, many students choose modular learning modalities. This
creates a new issue for the students. Students, in particular, face numerous
challenges, such as a lack of information, lack of counseling and monitoring. The
availability of resources plays a major role in today's mode of learning. Students and
teachers do not interact with one another personally and can only meet virtually or
online. Most of the time, students rely on internet platforms and can also get help
from family members with their modules. A student's online performance tasks are
greatly aided by the availability of resources. Also, in modular learning, resources
are essential because they enable students to acquire facts, ideas and information
about a certain topic without relying on teachers for the majority of the time. This can
help one's ability to gain information and widen students' knowledge without much
assistance.

Information resources play a major role in teaching and, specifically, in learning.

For effective learning to take place, information resources must be provided and
students must have access to various types of resources, particularly in the areas of
specialization. This will not only broaden their knowledge base, but it will also
prepare them for the challenges that they may face

The availability and accessibility of information resources are indispensable

factors in acquiring knowledge, learning and research; hence every University library
regardless of size should have adequate information resources available for its users
for reading, learning and research, as it is inevitable for institutions of higher learning
to succeed without libraries. Availability of information resources and services do not
automatically translate or assure information accessibility (Aguolu & Aguolu, 2002;
Nnadozie & Nnadozie, 2008).

2
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

Many students who choose modular learning modalities struggle because

they do not receive adequate guidance from their teachers and not enough
information in their modules. This follows a question: Can students handle the new
modular modes of learning? Knowing that there is insufficient teacher’s guidance at
home and insufficient information written in the module. As you all may know, not
every student is a fast learner. Parts of them had trouble understanding some of the
lectures. Many students are internet-dependent due to a lack of supervision.
Inquiring students about their ability to cope with the new learning mode is a way to
identify if students can answer their modules on their own and what are their
difficulties in doing so?

PROPOSED SOLUTION

Study shows that not all students are fast-learners or independent students.
Some of them require the assistance of teachers for them to be able to understand
the lesson easily. This leads to low academic performance of the students. As a
result, the researchers, have developed a solution that will benefit students

The researchers decided to create a survey questionnaire using a Google

form to collect data for the research that could support our studies. Consulting fellow
students and asking some questions regarding the research topic, which is the
students' coping strategies to answer their learning modules without enough
supervision from the teachers. To know if the students can or cannot answer the
modules even without the presence of a teacher. Consultation is when you hear a
person's needs and help identify a plan of attack for solving their problems and
accomplishing their goals.

This study can help students to improve their academic performance. Using
the internet as a means of delivering help to each other. It can be used as a tool to
assist students with their academic performance at the same time as establishing
student-student relationships. The significant role of students’ engagement and
connectivity can and expand better academic outcomes.

3
CONCLUSION

Answering learning activities without the presence of the teacher at home is

complicated. Most teachers have a variety of responsibilities and they can't answer
all of the students' questions. And it leads to the low performance of the students.

The researcher’s goal is to know if students can handle the new modular
modes of learning. Knowing that there is insufficient teacher guidance at home and
insufficient information written in the module. The Data Gathering will be done
through Focus Group Discussion (FGD) under a Qualitative Approach. FGD is a
method of gathering one's views, beliefs, thoughts, opinions, and ideas regarding the
current circumstance that everyone is confronted with

This research aims to help the students who are struggling in their learning
activities, for the reason that they can’t comprehend the modules without the
guidance of the teachers. The importance of student involvement and
connectedness might help students achieve higher academic results.
