functioning. The characteristics of an effective machine guard are the guard must be well-build,
it must be functional and effective to use, and it must protect the workers without distracting its
work performance. The effectiveness of the machine guard can be achieved by making sure that
the guarding used are appropriate and by having a maintenance.

prevent fire from spreading and these are removing the fuel that may cause more fire and know
how to use fire eliminating devices such as fire extinguisher and water sprinkler. Make sure that
the workplace is always clean and organize so that it is easier to leave the building if fires
happen. The proper way of using the fire extinguisher are: 1.) know the fire materials – there are
various types of fire extinguisher and its usage depends on the fire materials, 2.) Let go of the
pin - Release the locking mechanism and point the nozzle away from you. 3.) Keep your sights
low - firefighters must aim their fire extinguishers at the base of a fire. 4.) Gently press the lever
– this allows the release of the chemicals in the fire extinguisher, and 5.) Move the nozzle back
and forth – this is to make sure that fire is eliminated.
