THE INERRANCY OF SCRIPTURE

(Ang Inerrancy ng Banal na Kasulatan)

Pangunahing Hamon: Ano ang Doctrine of Inerrancy? At ano ang sinasabi nito tungkol
sa ating pananampalataya sa Bibliya? Mayroon bang maling kapahayagang nasusulat
sa Bibliya? Alamin natin sa araling ito kung tungkol saan ang Inerrancy ng ating Banal
na Kasulatan.

1. Ano ang kahulugan ng Inerrancy? (The Meaning of Inerrancy)

(The inerrancy of the Scripture means that Scripture does not affirm anything that is
contrary to fact. The Bible always tells the truth. The definition does not mean that
the Bible tells us every fact there is to know about any one subject, but it affirms that
what it does say about any subject is true.)

    not a human being, that he should change his mind.

Chicago Statements of Biblical Inerrancy, 1978

“Being wholly and verbally God-given, Scripture is without error or fault in all its
teaching, no less in what it states about God’s act in creation, about the events of world
history, and about its own literary origins under God, and done in its witness to God’s
saving grace in individual lives.”

2. Pagkakatukoy ng Doktrina ng Inerrancy (Doctrine of Inerrancy Defined)

a. …when all the facts are known (…kapag lahat ng katotohanan ay nalalaman.)
b. …the Scriptures in the original autographs. (…ang Banal na Kasulatan sa
orihinal na mga awtograpo)
c. …and properly interpreted will be shown. (…at ang maayos na interpretasyon ay
naipapakita)
d. …to be wholly true in everything they teach, whether they teaching has to do with
doctrine, history, science, geography, geology, or other disciplines or knowledge.
(…pagiging ganap na totoo sa lahat ng itinuturo, ang katuruan man ay may
kinalaman sa doktrina, kasaysayan, siyensa o agham, o ng iba pang disiplina at
mga larangan.)

3. Ano-ano ang mga paglilinaw ng Doktrina ng Biblical Inerrancy?

a. Ang inerrancy ay sumasakop sa lahat at buong bahagi ng Bible sa orihinal na

pagkakasulat. (The inerrancy covers all the parts of the Bible in its original
manuscript.)

Proverbs 30: 5-6

“5 “Every word of God is flawless;

6 Do not add to his words,
or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.”

b. Ang inerrancy ay hindi hinihingi ang malawakang pagrecord ng mga

pangyayari. (Inerrancy does not require extensive recording of events.)

“11 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we
do not see.”

c. Ang inerrancy ay nauukol sa kung ano ang pinatototohanan na ayon sa

nasusulat. (Inerrancy refers to what is being verified as written.)

 d. Ang Inerrancy ay hinihingi ang tamang interpretasyon ayon sa ibig
ipakahuluhan ng awtor.( Inerrancy demands the correct interpretation as
intended by the author.)

4. Ano-ano ang mga problema sa hindi pagtanggap sa Inerrancy?

(Problems with Denying Inerrancy)

a. Kung ating ipagkakaila ang Inerrancy, isang seryosong problemang moral

ang ating kinahaharap: Matutulad ba natin ang Diyos at
makapagsisinungaling din tayo sa maliliit na bagay?
(If we deny inerrancy, a serious moral problem confronts us: May we imitate
God and Intentionally lie in small matters also?)

Ephesians 5:1
“1 Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children”

b. Kung hindi tayo naniniwala sa Inerrancy, tayo ay nagsisimulang magduda

kung maaari pa ba nating pagkatiwalaan ang sinasabi ng Diyos.
(If inerrancy is denied, we begin to wonder if we can really trust God in
anything He says.

c. Kung ating itinatanggi ang Inerrancy, ginagawa nating mas mataas na

pamantayan ng katotohanan ang sarili nating isip kumpara sa mismong salita
ng Diyos.
(If we deny Inerrancy, we essentially make our own human minds a higher
standard of truth than God’s word itself.)

d. Kung hindi natin matanggap ang inerrancy ng Bibliya nasa punto tayo na
sinasabi natin na ang Bibliya ay mali hindi lamang sa maliliit na detalye kundi
pati narin sa mga Doktrina nito.
(If we deny inerrancy, then we must also say that the Bible is wrong not only
in minor details but in some of its’ Doctrine as well.)

5. Ano ang mga pananaw ni Jesus sa mga bagay na ito?

John 17:17
“17 Sanctify them by[a] the truth; your word is truth.”

Matthew 5: 17-18
“17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not
come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and
 earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any
means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.”

6. Bakit mahalaga ang Biblical Inerrancy?

(Why Biblical Inerrancy is very important?)
- Ito ay nakakabit sa katangian ng Diyos.
(It is attached to the character of God.)
- Ito ay itinuturo sa Banal na Kasulatan,
(It is taught in the Scripture)
- Ito ang makasaysayang posisyon ng Simbahang Kristiyano.
(It is the historic position of the Christian Church)
- Ito ay pangunahing kaalaman sa iba pang mga doktrina.
(It is fundamental to other doctrine)
