COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
People displaced by floods
Heavy rains caused floods across large
parts of the country, displacing more than
1.6 million people. The government led the 500,000
emergency response operations, including
the distribution of relief items and provision 180,000
of medical care to flood affected townships.

A Multisector Initial Rapid Assessment KACHIN
(MIRA), implemented by the government,
NGOs and UN agencies was conducted in
approximately 300 locations across
affected areas. Communities voiced their
preferred channels to receive information
and their information priorities.
