Case Study – Scope Management

Description

You have been assigned a project manager role for a project to create an application that aims at helping
students to choose the courses to register in for each semester. The project shall make students choice for
course registration easier and more efficient. It also should support the advising tasks by proposing courses
to register in. The director of the college approved the project and assigned a budget of 150,000 Dirhams
for the project.
The application needs be connected to the courses and programs database. It should have a logon page, a
reporting functionality, and it should allow for filtering the courses offered by program and by college. This
is not a registration application it is an advising application that propose courses based on the student GPA,
courses completed, and program of study. The application needs to be ready before the spring semester in
2021. So should be deployed and go live by Dec 2020.
The project manager needs to submit the scope baseline by Jun 2020, submit the interface designs by Jul
2020 and submit a short, student oriented, training video that shows how the application works by Dec
2020.
