EDUCATION
There are three laws/ statues that have been enacted specifically for the education
children of the nation :
1. Right to education mentioned in article 21(a) of our constitution. It states "The
state shall provide free and compulsory education to all the children of the age of
six to fourteen years in such manner as the state may, by law determine".
2. Article 45 (Directive principles of state Policy)- The state shall endeavor to
provide early childhood care and education for all children until they complete the
age of six years.
3. Article 51 (k) Fundamental Duty- States "Who is a parent or guardian to provide
opportunities for education to his child or, as the case may be, ward between the
age of six to fourteen."
CHILD MARRIAGE
The first and foremost Law enacted against Child Marriage in
our Nation was The child Marriage restraint act, 1929 and
then it was amended in the year 1940 and now the most
recent one is the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006
and under this Act children have the choice to declare their
marriage as worthless up to two years of reaching adulthood
that is, the age of 18 years.
Section 3 of Prohibition of Child Marriage mentions " Child
marriages to be voidable at the option of the contracting
party being a child"
CHILD LABOR
To prohibit the engagement of children in certain employments and to regulate the
conditions of work of children in certain other employments, the CHILD LABOR
PROHIBITION AND REGULATION ACT, 1986 was introduced. It specifically bans the
employment of children who have not completed the age of 14 years in certain
hazardous occupations and for the children above the age of 14 years, the Act under
Section 13 talks about their Health and Safety.
CHILD EXPLOITATION
Child exploitation is a global problem. Child exploitation includes
child domestic work, child soldiers, recruitments, and the
involvement of children. The use of children for criminal activities
.Including the sale and distribution of narcotics and the involvement
of children in harmful works.
Risk of abuse and exploitation for a variety of reasons, these may
include separation from their families, lack of access to educational
the need to take on adult responsibilities such as caring for siblings.
Taking advantage of someone's need for the job and paying them
only pennies to perform works you can get rich is an example of
exploitation

CHILD ABUSE
In India, child abuse is growing day by
day, and children face it in various forms.
Also, there has been an increase in the
child's tendency to get abused inside by
their home, by their close relatives.
Hence, to deal with child abuse, the
government of our country introduced
the Protection of Children from Sexual
Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, specially
meant for children below the age of 18
years. It is a comprehensive law to
provide for the protection of children
from various offences like sexual
harassment, abuse and pronography.
CONCLUSION
Why do We Need Laws?
Law means protecting the peace and interest of people and punishing the
wrongdoer with the help of legislation and legal codes. Hence, law is something
that not only serves towards creating a peaceful environment but also protects the
interest of the citizens of a country.
Law knows no color, race, religion, position anything, it gives an edge to
treat each and every person of the country equally without any kind of
discrimination.
People turn to courts for remedy. It helps people to settle there disputes
among them using the laws mentioned in the constitution as well other
laws enacted by the government. And most importantly a child needs
rights in order to grow as a productive citizen of the country.
