PERSONAL AND WORK AREA SAFETY
If you are unfamiliar with handling or operating the equipment you should hire a qualified plumber to install
the unit.
BEFORE USE: Inspect the item for misalignment, bindings, loose components, or damage.
Wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
The work area should be clean and well lit.

GENERAL ELECTRICAL SAFETY

BEFORE USE: Inspect electrical parts, and cords for damage or wear before each use. Repair or replace
damaged equipment immediately.
Ensure all power sources conform to equipment 110 Volts requirement and are disconnected before
installing.
Installation of Ground Fault Circuit Interruptor (GFCI) must follow The National Electrical Code (NEC) or NFPA
70 standards.
Ensure electrical cords are not trip hazards.
Do NOT immerse the unit in water.

GENERAL CHEMICAL SAFETY

Never use any harsh chemicals to clean; soap and water will suffice to clean the unit and help
preserve/extend its life.

MACERATOR PUMP SAFETY

The use of this product requires experience with and knowledge of the product. Persons with reduced
physical, sensory, or mental capabilities must not use this product unless they are under supervision or
have been instructed in the use of the product by a person responsible for their safety.
Children must not use or play with this product.
Toilets connected to this unit can be used like any normal toilet and require minimum maintenance. The
unit will operate automatically as soon as the required level of water enters the tank.
The unit should only be used in conjunction with the disposal of toilet paper, fecal matter, and wastewater;
any damage due to foreign bodies such as cotton, condoms, sanitary towels, wet wipes, food, hair, metal,
wood, or plastic objects, will not be covered by warranty. Solvents, acids, and other chemicals can also cause
damage to the unit and will invalidate the warranty.

INSPECTION REMINDERS
Unboxing: Inspect the package for any sign of damage, such as watermarks or punctures, before proceeding.
Unit Appearance: Check the unit for any visible damages such as ceramic breakage, macerating unit bends, and dents. Make
sure everything is intact before installation.

Inventory: Make sure all supply parts are complete before proceeding.

Safety: Always observe your surrounding for any potential electrical hazard, pipe pressures, fumes, sharp objects, and other
potential hazards.

QUICK SET UP GUIDE

STEP 1
Position the Macerator Pump at the
back of the toilet.
Align the connection between the
toilet and the Macerator pump inlet.
Secure the connection with provided
metal clamps.

STEP 2
Connect the side inlets to the Macerator
pump.
2 Auxiliary inlets may be connected to
the lavatory and shower drains
respectively. Keep inlets sealed when
not in use.
Secure the connection with provided
metal clamps.

STEP 3
Connect the discharge pipe.
Secure the connection with provided
metal clamps.

TIP
To attain its full efficiency, a straight vertical is
recommended. If it is necessary to extend the
pipe before the vertical run, only a maximum of
12 inches horizontal distance is allowed.

STEP 4
Plug the unit into the 120 VAC, 60Hz
power source.
Test for any issues.

Use only a long sweeping 90° bend elbow
or 2 - 45 degree bend elbows.

NEVER connect the unit to an Air Admittance

Valve (AAV). Because it will disrupt the pump's
operation and may damage the unit. Failure
to follow this will void the warranty.

Maximum Vertical Head is 30 feet.

Maximum Horizontal Head is 260 feet.

brackets to avoid sagging.

Do NOT flush paper towels, wet wipes or
any foreign objects as that will damage the
macerator.

For Maintenance, use CLR (Calcium, Lime &

Rust Remover) regularly.
Always follow manufacturer's instructions.

Use a winterizing agent for cold weather

conditions to avoid pipe freezing.

For easy maintenance, install a check valve at

the discharge pipe observing flow direction.
Always follow manufacturer's instructions.

FAQ's
VENT
Q: How do you vent this pump since there is no venting outlet?
A: The top inlet must be used.
Q: Can I use the air admittance valve for venting?
A: No.
Q: Do I need a p-trap for the tub line?
A: In most cases, you would not need the p-trap. Note: the key is having
enough ‘pitch’ (slope) toward the pump.
Q: Does this unit need to be vented?
A: Yes. The unit has a slot for a vent connection.
Q: Does the unit require sewage venting for foul odor?
A: We recommend venting the unit although the unit relies on activated
carbon to deodorize.
Q: I’m attaching the toilet sink and shower; do I still need to vent the
unit?
A: Yes, venting is needed on every plumbing fixture.
Q: Can you connect a vent pipe to the pump?
A: Yes, however, the pump already has a built-in vent.
Q: Can an admittance valve be used on a vent?
A: We do not recommend using an Air Admittance Valve at all.
CONVENTIONAL TOILET
Q: Can I use a conventional toilet with the Silent Venus Macerator?
A: We recommend using an upflush toilet, however, with proper fittings
and elevation, you surely can; however, we would recommend using a
professional to assist in this case.
Q: What exactly does upflush toilet’ mean?
A: This is a toilet bowl that discharges at the back of the unit as opposed to
downward discharges that are used in conventional toilets.
Q: To be more specific will this unit work with conventional toilets?
A: No, it must be a ‘rear flush (upflush) unit.
Q: Can the toilet flush paper towels with this macerating unit
attached?
A: We do not recommend flushing paper towels as that might damage the
macerator; note that our unit is designed for small amounts of toilet paper
and human waste. Our flushable wipes may also be used.
DESCALING / CLR
Q: How often do you need to descale?
A: Hard minerals, sludge and grease clog up the float switch. Descaling
frequency really depends on usage of the unit; however, we recommend
descaling once a month.
Q: What descaler is recommended for cleaning the pump?
A: We recommend CLR (Calcium Lime and Rust) descalers.
TOILET REAR DISCHARGE SIZE
Q: How do you attach the toilet discharge to this macerator?
A: A 3” PVC coupling will suffice. The rubber spigot will seal the hole.
Q: Can I use the Silent Venus Macerator on any upflush toilet?
A: Our macerator has a flexible 3½”⌀ rubber connection (spigot) that makes
it compatible with most upflush toilets without additional couplings; please
contact support@silentvenus.com for confirmation on your brand.

POWER AND SWITCH
Q: Does the toilet dispose of waste immediately when flushed?
A: Yes.
Q: Does the macerator grind with every flush?
A: Yes.
Q: Does this pump have a manual switch?
A: No, the macerating pump is connected to your electrical supply and
automatically discharges waste via float and switch.
Q: How do I readjust the internal float switch?
A: There is nothing to adjust; the macerating pump has its own built-in
float-switch.
Q: Does this work in the USA using a standard 15Amp
receptacle/outlet?
A: Yes, as long as you connect the unit to a 110 Volts outlet. We
recommend using a GFCI outlet for extra protection.
Q: Is a GFCI outlet required?
A: Yes, according to the National Electrical Code - Article 210.8 - all
bathroom receptacles must be GFCI protected.
DISCHARGE PIPE SIZE
Q: I was originally using the Saniflo Macerator which requires only ¾”
piping for discharging output. Can I still use the existing ¾” diameter
piping for the Silent Venus macerator?
A: Yes. ¾” ⌀ rigid pipe is an ideal discharge pipe size for our macerator.
Q: Can you pump the discharge through a three-quarter inch line
A: Yes, the discharge pipe can be either ¾” or 1”⌀.
Q: Can you use a ¾” inch flexible hose for the discharge pipe?
A: No; we recommend using only piping.
Q: How can I connect the discharge outlet to a regular 1½” ⌀ pipe?
A: You will need to purchase a 1½” to ¾” bushing reducer or bell reducer.
Q: What diameter is the discharge pipe?
A: The macerator discharge pipe size can be ¾” or 1”⌀ rigid pipe.
Q: What is the diameter of the holes on the chopping cylinder?
A: ¾” ⌀.
Q: Can I use 1½” schedule 40 PVC for discharge?
A: No. Use you can only use a ¾”⌀ schedule 40 PVC pipe.
Q: Does the unit have a check valve on the discharge?
A: Yes. It has a check valve (non-return) valve on the discharge.
SINK AND SHOWER DRAINS / GREYWATER INLETS
Q: Are there any specially designed bathtubs that must be used with
the unit?
A: No, you can safely use a conventional bathtub elevated on a 2X4
platform. A Clawfoot bathtub would also be ideal.
Q: Where can I get the fittings to connect the 1½” pipe?
A: All, necessary fittings are included in the box.
Q: What is the maximum pipe size for the inlets (where I can connect
a shower or urinal)?
A: The unit has two 1½”⌀ inlets.
Q: My pump keeps cycling? How do I fix it?
A: Verify there are no leaks on the water lines connected to the macerating
unit. Use CLR descaler every two months in the toilet water tank to ensure
the flapper remains sealed.

We help our customers make the right and confident choice. We offer a 30-day return policy from the date of
receipt for all our products. If you choose the incorrect item for any reason, we will assist you in returning and
replacing it. Please contact us if it is damaged or defective, and we will assist you in troubleshooting or
replacing the product.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR A RETURN:

Items must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original
packaging.
Items must be returned within 30 days upon receipt.
Have prior authorization from Silent Venus. Items returned without authorization will be disposed of
without a refund being issued.

To start a return, you can contact us at support@silentvenus.com. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a
return shipping label, as well as for instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to
us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
All returns will be inspected upon receipt.

Buyers are responsible for paying the return shipping costs for remorse returns.

Buyer's remorse refers to a return in which there was no wrongdoing on the part of the seller, or a customer
who returns refuses delivery, or returns a damaged item without obtaining a Return's Authorization.

Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you
receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

REFUNDS
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was
approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please allow
us 7 days to process the refund upon receipt of the returned item. Please remember, it can take some time
for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
