Death of million people victims by covid-19 virus

(Speech)

Good morning, everyone. In asia, the number of cases of COVID-19 has increased 13-fold in the last two
weeks, and the number of countries affected has tripled. More than 118,000 cases have been reported
in 114 countries, with 4,291 people dying as a result. Thousands more are in hospitals, struggling for
their life. We expect the number of cases, deaths, and affected countries to continue to rise in the next
days and weeks. We are profoundly concerned by the alarming levels of spread and severity, as well as
the frightening levels of inaction, which WHO has been monitoring around the clock. As a result, we
have determined that COVID-19 can be classified as a pandemic. The word "pandemic" should not be
used lightly or carelessly. It's a word that, if used incorrectly, can lead to unfounded fear or an
unjustified acceptance that the struggle is over, resulting in unnecessary pain and death.

The fact that the situation is being described as a pandemic has no bearing on WHO's assessment of the
virus's threat. It has no bearing on what the WHO is doing or what countries should be doing.A
pandemic caused by a coronavirus has never been seen before. This is the first coronavirus-caused
pandemic. And we've never seen a pandemic that can be controlled simultaneously. Since the first cases
were reported, WHO has been in full reaction mode. And we have urged governments to take
immediate and aggressive action on a daily basis. We've sounded the siren loud and clear. We cannot
emphasize enough how, no matter how loudly, plainly, or frequently, all countries have the ability to
alter the trajectory of this pandemic. Those with a handful of instances may prevent those cases from
becoming clusters, and clusters from becoming community transmission, if governments discover, test,
treat, isolate, trace, and organize their people in the response. Even countries with community
transmission or huge clusters have the potential to alter the virus's tide. Several countries have shown
that the virus can be controlled and inhibited.
