 Service: Awarded to a member who has made significant contributions by serving the Society and its members by
promoting the goals of the Society in efforts that extend above and beyond their duties as teachers, researchers,
consultants, and administrators.
 International Fellow: Awarded to an internationally outstanding wetland scientist for distinguished contributions to the field
of wetland science and for fostering the aims of SWS within their own country and elsewhere.
 International Travel: Awarded to provide financial assistance to wetland scientist, disadvantaged through regional
economic conditions, to enhance their participation in Society activities.
 Lifetime Achievement: Awarded to an individual in honor of a distinguished and extensive career of consistent meritorious
Contribution to wetland science. This award is given for specific accomplishments in any field of wetland science and

 Best Student Paper & Poster: Awarded for the best student paper and the best student poster presented at the annual
meeting of SWS.
 Merit: Awarded to an individual based on an important research or writing contribution to wetland science.
