2.0 SCOPE

2.1 This specification covers the design, supply, construction, inspection & testing, and

commissioning of storage tanks for M/s PCBL (TN) LIMITED, for their Carbon

Black Project at SIPCOT Industrial Park, Thervoy Kandigai, Tiruvallur District,

Tamilnadu, India.

2.2 The following codes and standards are applicable for the fabrication of storage

tank.

4.0 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

4.1 Purchaser’s design requirements are defined in the referenced data sheets, this

specification, other referenced specifications, codes and standards. supplier shall

be responsible for ensuring that all tanks and components provided are suitable for

the design and operating conditions stated in the tank datasheets.

4.2 Tanks shall be designed and constructed in accordance with the code specified in

this specification.

4.3 The supplier to check the adequacy of the free board (distance between highest
Liquid level and the top curb angle) as per applicable code/standard` and increase
the height of the tank if required. For fixed roof tanks the free board shall be

adequate to accommodate the internal roof structure without it getting wetted by


the stored product and should be approximately 500 mm.
4.4 The supplier shall coordinate the complete design and supply of all the tanks and
ensure satisfactory performance of component supplied by sub-suppliers. Where
the supplier provides components / equipment that he has not manufactured, he
shall ensure that the items are compatible with all other components supplied. The
supplier shall be responsible for guaranteeing all equipment/components including
those supplied by sub-supplier, if any.
4.5 In general, the SI unit system shall be used. However, for the purpose of design,
supplier may adopt the US Customary Units in which case all the requirements of
the Code for the US Customary Unit system shall be followed. The design results
shall then be converted to SI unit system. Where dimensions are specified in
inches, the nearest integer value in millimetres shall be used for SI unit system
except for pipes dimensions up to 20 NPS and for tubes where dimensions remain
in inch.

4.6 Materials

Materials of construction are specified on the data sheets


4.7 Safety Requirements

The equipment shall comply with safety requirements as specified by OSHA in

29 CFR 1910, Subpart D, where applicable, and state and local regulations in

effect where the equipment will operate.

4.8 Special Requirements

The Supplier shall provide any special tools that are required to maintain their

equipment. Special tools shall be clearly identified in the Supplier’s Proposal.

4.9 Minimum Thickness

Minimum thickness of various tank components shall be as specified in

the Code / description Specification.

4.10 Design Condition


The design condition shall be as specified in the tank data sheet.

4.11 Design Loads

 Tanks shall be designed for combined loads applicable to operation,

shutdown, and test conditions. These shall, as a minimum, include loads due

to wind, seismic, snow, dead weight, pressure in vapor space, forces, and

moments from piping on nozzles & piping clips and loads due to platforms &

ladders.

 Wind loads shall be as per applicable codes / standards and project specifications

as mentioned in the data sheet. The design wind pressure shall be calculated as

per “Civil, Structural and Architectural Design Basis” for the project.

 Seismic loads shall be as per applicable codes / standards and project

specifications as mentioned in the data sheet. The seismic load shall be

calculated as per “Civil, Structural and Architectural Design Basis” for the

project.

 Snow loads shall be as per applicable codes / standards and project

specifications as mentioned in the data sheet.

4.12 Allowable Design Stresses

 The allowable stresses shall be in accordance with API 650 / API 620 as

applicable.

 Anchor bolt and their allowable stresses at the normal operating condition

shall be selected by vendor and approval by purchaser.

 Higher allowable stress for anchor bolts & anchor chair as specified in the

code shall be considered for combined loads.

4.13 Bottom Plates

 Tank bottom shall have a minimum slope of 1 in 120 from the center down to

the tank outer unless otherwise specified on the storage tank data sheets.

 Unless otherwise specified in the tank data sheet, bottom plates of site

assembled/site constructed tanks shall be provided with a continuous single

lap weld from top side. The fillet size shall be same as the plate thickness. All

Shop fabricated tanks shall have butt welded bottom plates. For Site

constructed tanks, need for butt welded bottom plates to be defined in

datasheet, considering service severity, (i.e., caustic/acid, etc.).

 Drain sump shall be located so as to clear any lap joints in the tank bottom or

annular plate. The lap shall be so arranged to shed the water towards drain. If

sump is unavoidable for shop fabricated tanks, weld joint as per “Detail d” (fig.

5.21 of API 650) shall be avoided.

 Butt-welded annular bottom plate shall be provided if required by Code or if

specified in the Tank data sheet. Also, butt-welded annular bottom plate is

required where the weight of a portion of tank contents is considered in

calculating the overturning stability of the tank under wind or seismic loading

for unanchored tanks.

4.14 Shell

 Unless otherwise specified, one-foot method shall be used for design of shell

where the tank diameter is less than or equal to 61m. Variable design point

method shall be used for tanks with diameter in excess of 61m.

 No shell course shall have a thickness less than that of the course above,

regardless of the material of construction.

 Vertical joints in adjacent shell courses shall be as per code / standard and

preferably be offset by 1000 mm. First shell course shall be arranged so that

the vertical joints in shell have a spacing of at least 300 mm from any joints in

the annular or bottom plate.

 All tank seams shall be located to clear all external and internal permanent

attachments like nozzles, reinforcement pads, clips etc. The minimum

distance from the edge of the attachment weld to the edge of main weld shall

be as specified in Code.

 All butt welds on shell shall be full penetration welds.

 For vertical joints in shell, the following requirements shall be complied with:

a) Single-V butt joints shall not be used for plate thicknesses exceeding

13 mm.

b) Double-V butt joints shall not be used for plate thicknesses  8 mm

and shall be used for plate thicknesses over 13 mm.

 For horizontal joints in shell, the following requirements shall be complied


with:

a) Open-gap square butt joints may be used only where the thickness of

the thinner plate does not exceed 6 mm.

b) Single-bevel butt joints may be used for plate thicknesses up to 8 mm

and shall be used where the thickness of the thinner plate exceeds 8

mm but does not exceed 13mm.

c) Double-bevel butt joints may be used for plate thicknesses over 8 mm

and shall be used for plate thicknesses exceeding 13 mm

 Abutting shell plates at horizontal joints shall have common inner radius

 Shell plates shall be suitably stiffened for the local loads on nozzles and on

piping / structural clips to prevent local buckling of shell. The stiffening

arrangement shall be such as to distribute the load to a larger shell area or to

transfer the load to a thicker shell. A finite element analysis may be required

to establish that the proposed stiffening arrangement is adequate.

4.15 Fixed Roof

 Unless otherwise specified in the data sheet, all fixed roof tank shall be

provided with structurally supported cone roof.

 Roof supporting structure shall be of self-supported type.

 Roof plates shall be joined at the top by continuous full fillet welds. Laps shall

be arranged with lower edge of the upper plate underneath the upper edge of

the lower plate. On the bottom side, where flexure can be anticipated adjacent

to roof stiffening members, clips or nozzles with large piping loads, full fillet

welds not less than 50 mm long on 250 mm centers shall be used on any

plate lap joint that occur within 300 mm of any such member. A minimum of

three fillet welds shall be made.

 A continuous fillet weld of min. 5 mm size shall be used for joining the roof

plate to curb angle. However, in case of frangible roof requirement, API 650

requirements to be complied.

 Unless otherwise specified in the data sheet, roof plates shall not be welded

to the roof structure.

 Hand railing shall be provided all around the roof for fixed roof tanks.

 The loads from piping / structural clips on the roof plate shall be transferred to

the roof structure by providing supporting beams connected to the roof

structure underneath the roof plate.

 Design of roof structure shall be performed using STAAD. The roof structure

shall be checked for all the relevant load combinations as specified in the

Code. The roof structure shall also be designed for any local loads transferred

to it from the piping & structural clips on roof and piping load on nozzles.

 In case of stiffened roof (roofs with external stiffening members welded to it),

the design shall be done by modeling the roof plate and stiffener together on

STAAD.

 The supplier shall submit the original STAAD input files along with the result

files for review by purchaser.

 The thickness of the roof plate shall be checked for adequacy to withstand the

internal design pressure using API 620 rules for all types of roofs if clause

F.1.3 of Annex F of API- 650 is applicable. For stiffened roofs (roofs with

external stiffening members welded to it), a lesser thickness is acceptable if

the supplier can establish its adequacy based on stress analysis.

4.16 Nozzle Projection

 The minimum nozzle projections from the outside of the tank to the face of

flange shall be as per Codes.

 However, for top nozzles, projection may have to be increased to clear

platform, if required. This shall be specified in nozzle orientation drawing.

 All nozzles must extend clear of insulation with sufficient projection to afford

easy removal of bolts through the back of the flange.

4.17 Lifting

 Shop fabricated tanks shall be provided with required lifting lugs to facilitate

handling during transportation and erection at site. Proper stiffening

arrangement for the bottom plate shall be provided by the tank supplier to

avoid damage to the bottom plate & shell during lifting.

 A vertical load impact factor of 2 shall be used when designing lifting lugs.

Contingency factor of 1.1 shall also be included on the calculated weight.

 Supplier shall ensure that stresses generated in the tank wall by the lifting

lugs are within the allowable limit.

 Supplier shall submit lifting sketches and calculations to show that the

stresses in the tank during lifting, transportation and erection phases are

within the acceptable levels.

 Lifting lugs shall be subject to 100% NDE.

4.18 Earthing
Earthing lug shall be provided minimum as per API 650 with additional

requirement of Project specification / standards if any.

4.19 Appurtenances

 All appurtenances and accessories as shown in the tank data sheet shall be

provided by the supplier.

 All tanks shall be provided a top platform and access to roof / top platform.

Unless otherwise specified in the tank data sheet, tanks with shell height more

than 6.0 m shall be provided with a spiral stairway. The width of the spiral

stairway shall be 710 mm minimum clear of any projections from the shell-like

shell stiffeners and curb angle. Intermediate landings shall be provided for the

spiral stairway for every five meters of vertical travel. The slope of the stairway

shall be around 1/1 (45 Degree).

 Manholes and nozzles with blind flanges shall be provided with gaskets and

bolting.

 All nozzles up to NPS 2 shall be provided with 2 nos. stiffeners at 90o apart.

 Heating coil shall be sloped towards outlet for self-drainage. Heating coil pipe

shall be of seamless quality.

 Vortex breaker for side nozzles shall be designed in such a way that the

vortex formation is totally avoided.

4.20 Settling Marker

Settling markers shall be provided on the shell, 500 mm from the bottom to

check tank settlement. Size shall be 50 x 50 x 5 mm angle and 100 mm long.

The distance between settling markers is approximately 5 m (minimum 4

numbers).

4.21 Anchorage Requirement


If economical, tank shell bottom course & annular plate thickness may be

increased to eliminate the anchorage requirement.

4.22 Fabrication

 Unless otherwise specified in the data sheet, the extent of shop fabrication

shall include the following activities:

a. Annular Plate: cut to shape, edge bevelled.

b. Sketch plates: cut to shape & size.

c. Shell plates: cut to shape, rolled and edge bevelled. The rolling is to be

done only if so, required for the combination of thickness & radius as per

figure 6.1 of API 650 / API 620.

d. Shell stiffeners made of plate: plate segments cut to shape & rolled.

e. Shell stiffeners made of rolled sections: cut to size and rolled.

f. Curb angle: cut to size & rolled.

g. Rolled sections for Roof structure for cone roof: cut to length.

h. Rolled sections for roof structure for dome roof: cut to length & rolled to

curvature.

i. Fabricated sections of roof structure: fabricated and welded in sections.

j. Plate fabricated compression ring segments: cut to shape, rolled or formed

to curvature and edge bevelled.

k. Roof plate for supported cone roof: cut to shape & size.

l. Roof plates for self-supported and stiffened cone roofs: cut to shape and

formed to curvature

m. Reinforcement pads for nozzle: cut to shape and formed.

n. Nozzles: flanges welded to neck pipe.

o. Manholes: complete assembly excluding attachment to shell / roof.

p. Shell nozzles requiring stress relieving: completely prefabricated and

assembled on to a shell segment and stress relieved.

q. Cleanout Door: Complete assembly including the bottom reinforcement

plate, prefabricated on a shell section and stress relieved.

r. Heating coils: supplied in segments, duly bent to radius & edges prepared

for welding.

 The tank fabrication shall comply with API-650 / API-620 as applicable.

 Fabrication activities shall be started only after the supplier has received

written approval of material certification, detailed fabrication drawings,

calculations, weld procedures, plus welder performance and weld procedure

qualifications from the purchaser or the purchaser's authorized representative.

 Fabrication activities shall not be sub-contracted without the prior written

approval of the purchaser.

 The supplier shall notify the purchaser or their authorized representative in

reasonable time before actual fabrication begins.

 The edges of plates may be sheared, machined, or cut with a machine-

operated gas torch. Shearing shall be limited to plates 10 mm or less in

thickness.

 When the edges of plates are cut with a torch, the resulting surface shall be

uniform and smooth and shall be free from scale and slag accumulations. The

remaining fine film of rusts adhering to cut or sheared edges after wire

brushing need not be removed.

 The profile of all shell plates shall be accurate within a tolerance of 2mm in

length and 1mm in width. In addition, to ensure that plates are truly

rectangular, the length of the diagonals measured across the rectangle

formed by scribing lines 50 mm from each edge shall not differ by more than 3

mm.

 Curved edges of roof and bottom sketch plates and bottom annular plates

shall be cut to shape in the workshop by mechanized gas cutting or

machining.

 The supplier shall ensure that only the latest purchaser approved revision of

documentation is issued to the fabrication shop.

 Shell plates shall be rolled in the same direction as the final roll given while

manufacturing the plate.

 Frequent alignment checks shall be conducted during prefabrication to ensure

correct alignment of components prior to shipment to site.

 Internal flanges, where required, may be fabricated from plate of 13 mm

minimum thickness with full-face gaskets.

 The supplier shall issue a detailed erection procedure for approval by the

purchaser at least two months prior to commencement of work at site.

 After completing the prefabrication activities as specified, each part shall be

applied with a rust preventive coating such as a wash primer.

4.23 Construction

 Dimensional tolerances shall be in accordance with API 650.

 The procedure for joggling the lap welded bottom plate below the shell shall

be submitted to Engineer in Charge for his approval before proceeding any

welding on the bottom plate.

 During erection, tanks shall be adequately safeguarded against distortion or

damage due to wind pressure by the provision of suitable steel wire guys or

braces.

 A minimum of one guy wires every 7.5m of circumference is recommended.

These shall remain in place until welding of the shell plates and erection of the

roof framing has been completed, or, for open top tanks, until the wind girder

has been completed.

 Lugs, nuts, clamps, and other devices to assist in erection may be attached to

the tank plates by welding, but all such attachments required only for erection

purposes shall ultimately be removed and any projections of weld metal

remaining shall be carefully ground or chipped away. Plates shall not be

gouged or torn in the process of removing attachments, and any pits or

indentations caused thereby shall be filled with weld metal and ground flush

with the plate surface. The making of holes in tank plates to assist in their

erection is forbidden.

 The circles corresponding to the inside and outside curvatures of the bottom

course shell plates shall be marked on the tank bottom plates and this

marking shall be used in setting out the bottom course shell plates. Allowance

shall be made for the contraction of the vertical joints during welding. The

bottom course plates shall be plumbed and checked for circularity and be held

securely in position and locked together by metal clamps or other devices.

 After the bottom course vertical butt joints have been welded, the bottom

course ring shall be set to the circles previously marked out on the tank

bottom plates and any discrepancies in radius and curvature taken up as

equally as possible around the whole circumference of the tank.

 Care shall be taken to minimize lack of circularity or distortion between the top

and bottom of the tank shell, whether due to welding or any other cause.

 Before erection of the roof framing begins, the shell periphery shall be

carefully checked for uneven settlement. Any misalignment of the top of the

shell shall be corrected before the roof members are positioned.

 Temporary supports for the erection of the roof framing must never be

removed until the erection of the main and secondary framing is complete.

 When assembling roof sheets on the framing, unsymmetrical loadings shall be

avoided and not more than three roof sheets shall be stacked at any one

point.

 The design strength of erection poles to be used for temporary support of the

roof structure shall be checked by calculation for the maximum load to be

carried. In particular, the strength against buckling shall be checked.

4.24 Preheat Requirements


Section 7 of API 650 shall be followed for the requirement of Preheat. Preheat

temperatures shall be controlled by temperature indicating crayons or contact

pyrometer.

4.25 Post Weld Heat Treatment Requirements

 If indicated in the tank data sheet, tanks shall be subject to a Post Weld Heat

Treatment (PWHT). The PWHT of the tank shall be performed by an

experienced agency. The complete procedure for PWHT, including that for

protecting the foundation from damage to excessive heat shall be submitted

for PURCHASER’s approval. Use of fire bricks or layers of foam glass blocks

of requisite thickness is recommended to protect the foundation during PWHT,

if it is to be carried out on foundation.

 Flange facings and threaded connections shall be protected against oxidation

during heat treatment.

5.0 SPARE PARTS

Supplier shall provide the itemized and priced recommended spare parts lists

for:

 Erection, Pre-commissioning, Commissioning and initial Start-up (Shall be


included in the base price).
 2 Year’s Normal Operation.
After award, the supplier shall complete and submit the SPIR form provided
by the purchaser.

6.0 EXCLUSIONS

 Any civil work but necessary load data shall be provided by Vendor. For
Civil foundation loads: Wind Seismic whichever is governing.
 Insulation material.

7.0 SITE AND ENVIRONMENTAL DATA

Tanks are to be installed at the green field Carbon Black Project at SIPCOT

Industrial Park, Thervoy Kandigai, Thiruvallur District, Tamilnadu.

8.0 PACKING REQUIREMENTS

The below shall be applicable for tanks made in shop fabrication method

8.1 Supplier shall comply with the project specification attached with the

datasheet for packing and forwarding shop fabricated tanks and

prefabricated tank components.

8.2 After the final hydrostatic test, the shop fabricated tanks shall be dried and

cleaned thoroughly of all grease, loose scale, rust, flux, and weld spatter,

both internally and externally.

8.3 Flanged openings shall be protected with steel plate covers attached by

proper bolting and sealed with a plastic compound.

8.4 The SUPPLIER shall be responsible for loading and anchoring tanks to

prevent any damage during shipment.

8.5 All loose parts shall be properly crated and given clear markings relating the

parts to the tank identification number. The Tags and wire used for markings

shall be stainless steel.

8.6 All exposed machined and threaded surfaces shall be thoroughly coated

with a suitable rust preventative compound and suitably protected for

shipment. All female threaded connections shall be fitted with solid pipe

plugs of the same material as the connection. All vent holes in reinforcing

pads shall be plugged with heavy grease, unless otherwise specified.

8.7 The supplier shall ensure that all items are protected with suitable

preservation and packing.

9.0 DOCUMENTATION

9.1 Vendor shall furnish the drawings & documents as per attached Vendor Data

Requirement and Schedule.

10.0 MARKING

The tank shall be indelibly marked with at least the following on

stainless steel sheet:

a) Manufacturer's name, trade name tank (if any) and Serial No. /

Date of manufacture.

b) Shell Diameter and height

c) Operating and Design Temperature and Pressure

d) Nominal capacity & pumpable capacity

e) Design Code

f) Net / Gross weight

11.0 DEVIATION STATEMENT

The supplier shall submit item wise deviation statement seeking approval for

marking deviation from the above drawings and specification. In case no

relaxation is sought, 'NIL' statement shall be submitted.

12.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAMME (QAP)

12.1 The supplier shall submit his internal quality assurance plan to PCBL (TN) /

Purchaser. In the said QAP, infrastructure facilities (comprising of testing and

manufacturing facilities), frequency of various checks, details of nature of work

involved in the checks and record maintained regarding these checks should be

indicated on demand by PCBL (TN) / purchaser or the Inspecting authority

nominated by the purchaser, make the records of checks carried out during internal

quality assurance available for scrutiny.

12.2 The supplier shall, on demand by PCBL (TN) / purchaser or the Inspecting

authority nominated by the purchaser, make the records of checks carried out

12.3 Material of construction shall be as specified on the data sheets. supplier shall

review the materials specified and confirm its suitability for the specified design

condition.

12.4 Materials other than those specified may be proposed as alternative with their

advantages and past proven experience for the approval by the purchaser.

13.0 MAINTENANCE

The supplier shall supply free copies of the approved maintenance manual

for running and overhaul running maintenance purpose at the rate of 3

copies per purchase order. In situ checks: Either based on 30 days, 120

days, 240 days, or 360 days

Overhaul: Either based on 24 months or its multiple.

14.0 INSTALLATION LOCATION:

The tank will be installed outdoor and shall be suitably protected against the

local extreme ambient conditions.

15.0 PAINTING:

15.1 Painting of all exposed CS surfaces shall be done as per Vendor’s standard.

However, vendor shall submit the same for purchaser’s review / approval.

15.2 Stainless steel, galvanized steel and aluminium components shall be

unpainted.

15.3 Lead based paint shall not be allowed.

15.4 All carbon steel components shall be coated according to the Manufacturer’s

standard unless otherwise noted on the Data Sheets.

15.5 Underside of tank base shall be coated with a painting system specified /

approved by purchaser, when specified in the data sheet.

16.0 COLOUR

The tank shall be supplied as per vendor colour scheme unless otherwise stated in

the purchase order. Quality of paint shall be as per relevant I.S. publication, the

details of which shall be indicated.

17.0 INSPECTION AND TESTING

17.1 Vendor to provide for stage wise or final inspection of the complete equipment with

all accessories, depending on the requirements specified at the time of order

placement.

17.2 The inspection shall be carried out by client or his authorized representative at the

manufacturing facility, on getting advance notice from vendor

17.3 The Purchaser shall perform field tests during which all components shall be
verified to perform satisfactorily at the design rate under design conditions.
17.4 Hydrostatic Test

 The tank shall be cleaned internally of dirt, debris, welding slag, and weld

spatter before the hydrostatic test.

 Test water and all necessary test bolts, gaskets, blind flanges, and facilities

including temporary piping, etc. required for conducting hydro test shall be

supplied by supplier for the tanks assembled /constructed at shop and by

construction contractor for tanks assembled / constructed at site.

 Hydrostatic testing shall be in accordance with code and shall be performed

before painting in the presence of the purchaser's appointed inspector and a

representative of the certifying authority when applicable.

 Heating coils shall be pressure tested as per approved drawing.

 During hydro test, after the water level in the tank has reached the design

liquid level, fixed roof joints shall be tested for leaks by applying an internal air

pressure equal to:

 The weight of roof plates for atmospheric tanks.

 The design pressure for tanks governed by clause F.1.2 of API 650

 1.25 times the design pressure for tanks governed by API 620 or clause F.1.3

of API 650.

 Tank settlement during filling and for the duration of the hydrotest shall be

monitored and recorded.

 Procedure for tank testing shall be submitted by the tank fabricator for

purchaser’s approval.

 Hydrostatic test water shall be potable. In addition, the chloride content in

water used for hydrostatic testing of SS tanks shall be less than 50 parts per

million.

 The water temperature for the hydrostatic test shall not be lower than the

MDMT of the tank and shall not exceed 40°C.

 Gaskets and bolting used for hydro test shall be of same type as required for

service and these gaskets shall be replaced after hydro testing.

 Shop Fabricated tanks shall be hydro tested in vertical position at shop.

18.0 INSPECTION AND CERTIFICATION

18.1 The purchaser or his authorised representative shall always have free entry to the

Vendor’s works and Vendor’s supplier’s work where and while the work is being

performed. The inspectors shall have the rights to inspect all radiographed films as

well as designs, calculations, material records and shop records.

18.2 Welding procedures, welding qualification tests, and welder’s qualifications shall

meet all requirements of ASME codes / IS standards.

18.3 The vendor shall conduct tests and inspections as per Vendor’s standard practice.

Test certificates, wherever applicable shall be furnished by the vendor.

18.4 Vendor shall conduct tests at site as per the requirement of Statutory Board as

required.

18.5 The vendor shall furnish the procedure to be used for erection, cleaning, testing

and commissioning of tank.

18.6 Two-week trial run of the tank after cleaning, at rated duty shall be performed

under the supervision of the vendor. During this trial run the Vendor’s

representative shall train the operating personnel of the purchaser

All instrumentation and controls within vendor’s battery limits shall be as per the

attached specification TCE.12215B-IC-XXXX-XX-45XXX – Standard Specification

for Instruments in Package units.

20.0 GUARANTEE

20.1 Equipment supplied shall be guaranteed against faulty design, defective or

improper materials, poor workmanship, or failure from normal uses during the

guarantee period. In the event of malfunctioning / mal performance of the

equipment, or defects occurring in the equipment during alterations, repairs and

replacement shall be free of charge.

20.2 Guarantee Period: 18 months from the date of commissioning or 24 months from

the date of supply whichever is earlier for the proper workmanship, MOC of

different parts and performance.

20.3 The Supplier shall guarantee that the equipment and materials provided are

suitable for the application specified in these documents
