SLAC NARRATIVE REPORT
SY. 2020-2021
I. INTRODUCTION
“Once a teacher…. forever a learner…” This adage is a constant reminder that teachers
need continuous professional growth and development. It connotes that the learning of the
teachers should not stopped the moment that had earned a higher degree, much more of each
them have to continuously acquire knowledge and abreast with swift and sudden changes in
the curriculum.
Today, the teachers are facing the challenges of the New Normal. The traditional face to
face classes had been suspended and no one knows when this set up will resume.
Consequently, teachers have to deliver the teaching in an alternative delivery modality which
is the modular distance learning. Aside from it, whenever possible online kumustahan takes
place.
Teacher today are trying their best to deliver education in the home of our Children
amidst pandemic. In line with these teacher’s challenge is that they will be able to learn and
apply what this course is about and how it will help them manage the teaching-learning process
in the modalities

With the current condition about the pandemic, teachers must be equipped and oriented
with the knowledge and skills to cope up with the need of the schools and students. October 8,
2020 the first LAC session Schedule for teachers in Sominot Central ES-SPED/SSS is composed
of LAC Leader, LAC Resource Speaker, LAC Facilitator, LAC, Documenter, LAC Secretary
and LAC Members with the total participants of 12. The training was held at schools canteen.
The speakers were the teachers from the both school who are knowledgeable in Learning
Delivery Modality Course (LDM 2). We participants had a chance to apply the inputs and
answer the task given to us by the discussants.

II. OBJECTIVES:
a. To continually enhances teacher’s skills in pandemic times
III. ACTIVITIES /STRATEGIES
The session started at exactly 8:00 o’clock in the morning. The Session started with
singing of Philippine National Anthem followed by Opening Prayer through an Audio Video
Presentation. Principal Pacita T. Damas opened the program with an inspirational message. It
was followed by the orientation proper.

The first discussant was Mrs. Monida S. Dichos, Master Teacher II who talked all about
Module 1, The Course Overview. She started his topic with Powerpoint Presentation. She taught
the participants the topics; LCP capacity building framework; course rationale and objectives;
course design, content and delivery; self-learning modules; learning action cell.

The topic was discussed, handouts were distributed for reference, followed by Activities by
answering questions about the topic. The discussion ends with sharing of participants answer to
the activities and more expanded explanation was also given about the lesson.
The second discussant was Mrs. Elizabeth M. Hocoy, she oriented us about Lesson 2 with the
topic of Learning Action Cell (LAC); The LAC Roles and Responsibilities; LAC Forms. The
discussion started with a brief discussion about D.O. 35, s.2016 “ The Learning Action Cell as
the K to 12 Basic Education Program School-Based Continuing Professional Development
Strategy for the Improvement of Teaching and Learning”. Followed by activities to be performed
by the participants, the discussion ended with sharing of the participants answers to Activity 1
and 2 given. Followed by another discussion about the Forms, after discussion the participants
filled-up the forms and submit to the facilitators for checking of outputs.
Mrs. Angelique L. Acosta gives the summary of the orientation while there are some
recommendation that an Activity Sheets will be assigned to participants to be printed in
preparation for the next session to reduce consuming so much time in copying the activity.
Module 2 Hand-outs was given, soft copy about the topic was also given for advance reading and
learning. A reminder of What needs to bring for the next lesson. Additional Information from
Marizsa J. Bahari she elaborate the main purpose of the orientation of LDM. He also raised
concerns about assigning a Planning Committee Chairman and Technical Planning Committee.
Questionings and clarification were welcomed before adjournment.
Finally, Mr. Pedrito B. Apepe, visited the orientation for monitoring and assistance. She also
shared ideas about the purpose of the LAC Session and the Activities during the LAC Session.
The session was adjourned and the Schedule of the next orientation is on October 15, 2020 at
8:00 o’clock in the morning and ends at 5:00 o’clock in the afternoon at the same venue.

IV. Problems Met:


a. Limted face to face interaction
b. Limited time

V. Suggestions/ Recommendations:

The training must give ample to time to every activity to have a clearer output.
