A. COURSE OBJCTIVES
On completion of the course, students will be able to –
1. Realize that every engineering task has certain impact on the ecosystem and unless it is delivered
with proper care the environment will degrade.
2. Comprehend the risks associated with exploitation of natural resources and prescribe judicious use
thereof.
3. Realize need of biodiversity and prescribe practices to preserve it.
4. Gather adequate knowledge of different pollutants, their sources and shall be aware of solid waste
management systems and hazardous waste and their effects.
5. Comprehend the necessity in developing social awareness and involvement towards protecting the
ecosystem.
6. Realize how human activities influence the environment and how the recent developments be used in
protecting the environment from degradation.
