ACTIVITY DESIGN
Title: Continuous Professional Development Through School-Based INSET

I. Rationale
In-Service Training (INSET) has been considered as crucial to the maintenance
and sustenance to the capacity of the teachers to continue providing classroom
instruction. INSET can be defined as the variety of activities and practices, in which
teachers become involved in order to enrich their knowledge, improve their skills in
teaching and enable them to become more effective and efficient in delivering high
quality basic education services.
II. Objectives
1. Enhance teacher’s capability and understanding in dealing multi-faceted
dimensions of personality in the organization.
2. Identify and internalize the characteristics of a 21 st century teacher and learner.
3. Capacitate teachers to conduct school based action research.
4. Equip teaching and non-teaching personnel with knowledge on comprehensive
school safety and disaster management and prevention.
5. Educate teachers to respond properly, more quickly and effectively when disaster
and medical emergencies occur.
6. Revisit the importance and implications of Teachers Code of Ethics and DepEd
Order no. 49, s. 2006 in the performance of duties and responsibilities.
