characteristics:
7.10.1 Locations shall be based upon site conditions and to minimize the
possibility of personnel being trapped inside the building.
7.10.2 Doors shall open outwards. Industrial grade automatic door closures
shall be installed.
7.12.6 Base shall be of the skid-type welded construction, rigidly braced with
welded cross members and integral permanent provisions for multiple
point lifting. Base shall be welded to the building fame. Jacking

7.13 Hot-dip galvanized or stainless steel surfaces shall not be painted or coated.
7.14 Where dissimilar metals are in contact, the contact points shall be suitably
protected to prevent corrosion due to galvanic action.
8 Equipment Layout
8.2 Spacing shall allow equipment with hinged doors to have the door fully opened.
9 HVAC System
9.1 Two, 100% redundant HVAC units shall be installed. Each 100% HVAC unit
shall be completely independent (i.e., complete removal/failure of one unit will
not affect the capability of the other unit to maintain the environmental
requirements inside the building).
9.3 Based upon the above “Site Conditions” each 100% HVAC system shall be
designed to continuously maintain the following environment conditions inside
the building:
9.5 Shall be designed to maintain a positive pressure (0.25 inches of water gauge)
inside the building after complete field installation and hook-up. A differential
pressure switch shall be provided. This switch shall incorporate an electrical
contact which will activate if the differential pressure between the outside and
the inside of the building drops below a preset level. This contact will be
connected at the site by the Buyer.
9.6 The control system shall include an automatic “alternator” system to ensure both
100% units have equal operating time.

9.7 HVAC components shall not be installed on the roof of the building.
All outdoor serviceable components shall be maintainable from grade level.
9.8 For offshore applications, all HVAC components external to the building shall
be suitable for long-term exposure to highly corrosive seawater mist.
9.9 A thermostat shall be installed that shall be manually adjustable over the
operating range.
9.10 Main power consuming elements of the HVAC system (i.e., compressor, heater,
etc.) shall operate on three phase power; either 208 V or 480 V.
10 Electrical Service
10.1 Building electrical installation shall comply with industry standard NFPA 70
(i.e., NEC)
10.2 Buyer shall supply a 480V, 3 phase, 3 wire service to the building. This shall be
field terminated to a building manufacturer provided three phase manually
operated safety switch inside the building. Building supplier shall inform the
Buyer of the amperage requirement of this service a maximum of four weeks
after award of building order.
10.3 Building shall have an electrical distribution system with the following
characteristics:

10.3.3 120V service receptacles shall be installed inside the building per the
following:
10.3.4 If the HVAC operates at 480V, provision for separate isolation and
circuit protection for each HVAC system shall be provided.
11 Grounding/Bonding
11.1 A minimum of one copper equipment/safety grounding bus shall be installed per
the following:
11.1.1 Shall be installed on the interior wall approximately 300 mm above the
floor and standing-off the wall surface.
11.1.2 Each end of the bus shall be connected to a green insulated copper.
11.1.5 The Buyer will field connect the site safety grounding network to the
building base frame to complete the safety grounding system.
11.2 A minimum of one copper instrument grounding bus shall be installed per the
following:
11.2.1 Shall be installed on the interior wall approximately 300 mm above the
floor and standing-off the wall surface.
