ABOUT THE SEMINAR National Seminar
Over the past two decades, the number of recorded disasters has doubled from approximately 200 to over
400 per year. Nine out of every ten of disasters have been climate related. This trend is set to continue On
and in coming years weather related hazards will become more frequent and volatile. Never before, the
challenge to substantially reduce the impact of disasters and risk reduction was an essential component
of development policies. “VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT AND PREPAREDNESS ON
In this regard, it is proposed to organize a National seminar entitled “VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT AND
PREPAREDNESS ON DISSEMINATION TACTICS FOR DISASTER RISK REDUCTION”- with an emphasis on DISSEMINATION TACTICS FOR DISASTER RISK REDUCTION”- with
COVID-19. The seminar throws light on various aspects of natural and man-made disasters. This seminar an emphasis on COVID-19
is conducted as a back throw of collective experiences of the discussions about COVID-19. It discusses on
the effect, the pandemic has made on economy with special emphasis to education sector. It also prioritizes
top public health priorities and the global solution for these issues. 19th February 2021
The seminar emphasizes on preventive measures of disasters in addition to empowerment of local
communities to mitigate as well as prevent loss of life and property. As a part of this seminar a Jaatha was
organized during the very early stages of COVID-19 outbreak in India in the month of February 2019 to REGISTRATION FORM
educate the local community by making street plays.
