Abstract:
There is a growing need in contemporary society to understand new and emerging relationships between technology, science and creativity. The
design field coming to both education and practice are witnessing a transformation in the processes of design and construction. Parametric designs,
which may be accomplished through digital technology, makes mass manufacturing more convenient in a variety of fields.
The fashion industry in Lebanon got hit by a triple crisis, economically, health wise and after the blast effect, which made designers start to look for
solutions through what technology can offer. A novel technology often leads to some forms of disruptions that are a result of the average consumer
applying new tools in their everyday lives (Lipson and Kurman 2013). Fashion and architecture have become more intertwined thanks to digital
fabrication, which has blurred the lines between the two sectors.
The birth of additive manufacturing, commonly known as 3D printing technology, took place in 1984 and is finally bringing us to a time of the third
industrial revolution (Barnatt 2013). this technology holds much potential in providing a viable method to create fashion products in the
future.
“The aim of this dissertation is to provide guidelines to creating architectural spaces creating new solutions, technologies and processing
to improve and fight with the negative effect of the traditional manufacturing techniques on the environment.”
This aim will be achieved by firstly defining and analysing the key words of this research, then by analysing similar exemples and finally by deeply
studying case studies.
Keywords: Technology - practical experimentation - modern science- innovation – architect and materials – construction strategies
