Question: What environment practices can be done to minimize the threats of

exogenous processes to human safety?

-To minimize the threats of exogenous processes to human safety, we should adopt environmental practices.
To avoid erosion and sedimentation. Grass, trees, and other ground covers will develop a root system that
weaves through the earth, stabilizing what would otherwise be loose soil and keeping it firmly in place. Because
of the long-term efficiency of this method, it is one of the most popular means of preventing erosion. We
cannot prevent mass wasting, however, in many situations, there are actions we can take to reduce or mitigate
the damaging effects of mass wasting on people by using engineering solutions. These include barriers and
retaining walls, drainage pipes, terracing the slope to reduce the steepness of the cuts, and immediate
revegetation. Rockfalls can be controlled or eliminated by the use of rock bolts, cables, and screens and by
cutting back slopes to lesser gradients.

ASSESSMENT

Question: What are the different factors that contribute to the weathering of
rocks? In your own words describe these on the space provided below.
The weathering of rocks is caused by a variety of causes.
