New batch of Sinovac COVID-19 jabs arrives in Philippines
We received 1.5 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine that was made by a Chinese drugmaker Sinovac Biotech. The Department of Health said that the distribution of the vaccines will start after receiving the documents to ensure the good quality of vaccines. The manufacture failed to give the certificate of analysis, it is one of the requirements by the country’s drug regulator. As a citizen of the Philippines, I’m so happy about donated COVID-19 vaccines. Wondering how many will be given the chance to save and protect themselves against the COVID-19 virus. This brand Sinovac has an issue before for having the low efficacy rate. People are afraid to this vaccines because it was made by a Chinese drugmaker in addition of that, the COVID-19 was originated in China and because of the clinical trail happened in Brazil. The result of the clinical trial has a low efficacy rate which means how well the vaccine works when given to people in the community. The people prefer the other vaccine brands like the Astrazeneca, Pfizer, Moderna etc, because people think that those vaccines are very effective. The government is really trying to provide all the vaccines we all needed. We don’t have to grumble what vaccines we will get. Be thankful for having those vaccines for free, we are lucky to have a free vaccines. It is not about the brand of the vaccine, it is all about how your body react on it. Everyone can experience side effects of the vaccines. We have a different types of body, maybe other people didn’t experience the side effects of the vaccines. After we took the first dose of the vaccine what we will experience is actually normal and we don’t have to worry. The interested people who wants to take their first dose of vaccine is now getting higher. They were convinced that the vaccine is not dangerous for our health and the trepidation is now fading. Although there are still some people who are still scared like my father. As daughter and aspiring doctor in the future I’m doing my very best to convince him to take the first dose. Now that the another dose of vaccine arrived a lot of people is patiently waiting for their turn. We are helping others while protecting ourselves. If I will be given the chance I will gladly grab the opportunity to get vaccinated. Let’s pray and hope that this battle against the COVID-19 virus will be gone soon. Stay safe, healthy and get vaccinated.
