1. Write different situations/ places where we use data logging systems? And give the name of the
data logging systems that are used?

 Hospitals –
a. Heart monitor – monitoring the heart beat rate
b. Breathe rate monitor – measuring the breathing rate and the oxygen level
c. Blood sugar testing machine – measuring the blood glucose level
d. Blood pressure measuring machine – measures the blood pressure
e. ECG [electro-cardiogram machine] – monitor the heart beat rate. (This machine
records the electrical impulses)

 Environment –
a. Heat sensor / humidity sensor – measure the conditions in greenhouse and
weather
b. Oxygen and PH probes – measure the oxygen and PH levels of ponds and
aquariums
c. PH sensor - it measures the PH level of stream water soil and rain
d. Sound sensor – it studies the busiest road traffic

 Home –
a. Temperature senor and thermocouple sensor – it is found in refrigerators and
freezers
b. Heat sensor – it measures the temperature in an oven

 In plant transpires –
a. Humidity probes - it studies the dehydrated water level of a plant (in biological
experiments)

 Scientific experiments –
a. PH meter – it is used to measure the strengths of acid-based reactions
(acidimetry)
b. Temperature sensor – it is used to check the chemical changes in experiments

 Agriculture –
a. Meteorological device – it is used to measure weather, climate changes, rainfalls
and wind direction. This helps for crop cultivation and harvesting time
b. Field condition measuring device – this helps to parameter fertility and humidity
level of soil (it helps to demine cultivating activities)

 Transport –
a. Automated light sensor – minimize the accidents by controlling the vehicle
traffic and pedestrians
