INTELIGENT SafetyMonitor SYSTEM
When introduced to a ward guarantees constant control of patients’ medical
condition and setting of beds. The highly sensitive VitalMonitor sensors monitor
the patient’s vital functions and the built-in BedMonitor sensors monitor the bed’s
main safety features. Thanks to the SafetyMonitor system the nurse has constant
control over the entire ward and this significantly increases patient safety.

SafetyMonitor system performs constant contactless
measurement of the heart and respiratory rate and also
assesses the safe bed settings.
— Timely warning if the patient’s condition deteriorates
— Immediate warning of deviations from the required bed
condition
— Minimisation of possible adverse events

WARD UNDER NON-STOP

CONTROL
Nursing staff has constant control of the bed and the
patient. The nurse is immediately informed that her
presence is required at the bed. The risk of delay is
significantly reduced.
— Central overview from one location
— Possibility of individual settings for individual patients
— Better control of the bed allows more time to be devoted to
the care of the patient

Timely detection of a sudden severe deterioration of

the patient’s health condition and quick transfer to
the ICU significantly reduces the risk of death during
hospitalisation.1

The standard control regime in a ward means that a

overview of the condition of one patient at that moment
in time. During the night control intervals can be longer.
— Insufficient overview of the condition of patients
— Wards are busy and there are many patients

POSSIBLE RISKS
A patient’s medical condition can change suddenly at
an ICU, but also on standard wards where patients are

assistance does not always come on time.

without supervision — thrombosis and embolism

— sudden cardiac arrest
— hidden post-operative bleeding

— severe allergic reactions, for example to drugs or

Thanks to bed localisation function staff always has — sudden exacerbations of secondary diagnoses
current information about where a specific bed is
located. This function is of particular great benefit to
a hospital ward where beds are often moved.

THANKS TO THE VitalMonitor

it is possible to protect the patient comfortably and easily against
unexpected risks and limit the consequences of adverse health
complications. The patient’s important vital functions are fully
monitored – constantly and directly in front of the eyes of healthcare
professionals.
— Extremely sensitive sensors for measuring vital functions
— Possibility of immediate intervention in case of danger
— Contactless scanning does not disturb the patient and facilitates the
work of nurses

MEASUREMENT OF THE PULSE
AND RESPIRATORY RATE
Contactless measurement of the patient’s vital functions. The
system warns if any of the limit values are exceeded that are
individually set for each patient. The continuous monitoring of Respiratory rate
vital functions enables immediate assessment of any changes in
medication and monitoring of the patient’s long-term trends.

built into the bed continuously monitors the main safety features of all beds
on a ward. This information is subsequently transmitted to the display
device (PC, tablet, mobile phone, etc).

Prevention of

up to  50 % of falls,
that occur during hospitalisation*

BED HEIGHT 1
Particularly at night this restricts the bed’s
setting to the lowest position and
consequences of a fall. The BedMonitor
warns that the bed is not in this position.

BED BRAKES 2
A significant number of falls as the result
of a bed without locked brakes. The
BedMonitor immediately signals that the
bed’s brakes are not locked.

BACKREST SETTING 3
The BedMonitor sends out a warning
if the backrest is set at less than
30°. This position is important for
preventing pulmonary complications.

SIDERAIL POSITION 4
The signalling of the position of the
siderails, which are a basic safety feature,
is vitally important especially during the
night hours.
1

PATIENT’S BED EXIT 5

If the bed is equipped with scales, the
BedMonitor can signal the patient’s bed
exit.

PATIENT’S WEIGHT
The BedMonitor can monitor the patient’s
weight on beds with integrated scales.

DATA EXPORT TO THE
HOSPITAL INFORMATION
SYSTEM
by means of an optional SW integration module.
The client can subsequently process information or archive
it using the same systems used for the processing of data
from other medical devices.
— Data retrieval such as for legal proceedings
— Monitoring the trends of the medical condition of
long-term hospitalised patients
— Possibility of assessing the effects of treatment in various
groups of patients

MINI-TERMINAL
The mini-terminal is a control and communication device
located on the wall next to the patient’s bed.
— The current heart and respiratory rate directly at the
patient’s bed
— Confirmation or delay of signalled alarms (especially the
Bed Exit Alarm)
— Setting limit values for sounding alarms and local
administration of the system
When used in homecare it serves as a communication
module for a WiFi or Ethernet connection.

IN HOSPITAL
Nurses have a constant overview of the condition of the vital signs of all patients and the bed settings.
The entire ward can be monitored from one point. The risk of delay is reduced to a minimum.

IN NURSING-CARE, IN HOMECARE
The carer has up-to-date information about the condition of his relative. It can be used on any bed with
a removable mattress and fixed frame. Information is available on a smartphone or home PC.
