Immigration Position Paper

Immigration has become a matter of debate since time immemorial. Much of the immigration
debates have been majorly on the area of ontology. Ontology can be perceived as the state of
something being real in the face of humanity. Ontology can be discussed on a vast array of subjects,
including faith based ontology, neoliberalism, liberalism, and nativism. However, there are many
areas with which ontology can be debated on. In this paper, I will be focusing mainly on ontological
theory and its connection to immigration from a personal view point. The paper will delve into the
different aspects of ontological theory to provide insights on immigration as a subject of great
concern in the society today.

Nativism has it that the interests of the native-born come first and should be protected at all cost. A
society which calls for the protection of the interests of the native-born make it overly difficult for
the immigrants to enter and lead a good life. More of the nativism is grounded on culture
preservation and therefore deflects the immigrants that would wish to enter the country in
question. However, liberalism in the ontological theory is in contrast with the nativism since it is
based on inalienable rights for humanity, and this makes it simple for immigrants.
