Day Sailer
On any warm summer day you can usually see one or two
of these boats on any lake anywhere in the world. With
that thought in mind I have put together a pian for what I call
a"DAY SAILER." This may seem simple and it's meant to
be. A beginner will love this and an old salt might like it too,
especially if you put more than one in a bottle simulating a
commodores cup race.
‘The cockpit can be cut out or simulated by painting
black. The main sail is glued to the mast & boom, with
only a single tie to the sheet horse, which is a wire bent in a U
shape, the stay sail is glued to the thread after itis knotted to
the main mast. The spray shield is made in two pieces and
slued in front of the main mast. For that extra touch try gluing
mahogany veneer to the deck and painting the hull white.
Have fun sailing on your warm summer day.
